There’s a theme evolving today involving the sea, travel, pools, reading books and composing some tunes.
We shall literally be by the pool this afternoon with the return of what we call “Lido Season”. What’s that? You may ask! Every year from May till September our kayak club opens up the boat store which is located at Aldershot’s amazing outdoor swimming pool, we’ve close to 90 different sorts of boat, including canoes, kayaks and standup paddle boards. The pool is that big, being divided into two, we can host a maximum of 50 people at a time. There are lifeguards there of course and a load of us volunteers.
Today is the opening day where one part of the pool is open to swimmers, paddlers and is shallow, with the deepest part being waist deep to me as a 5’ 10” person.
The deep section is really deep and that’s where we are today, so if people want to roll or capsize, it’s safe to do so.
We’re hoping to get some new signups today.
We’re off to Madeira in September and I’m always on the lookout for a good book to read by the pool, see where I’m going with this!
@shanibeer wrote a review for this book and I’ll grab a copy to take with me on that trip.

Great to see that Blocktunes is back and I’ve minted a new track on the platform, I would share a link but since using it this morning I can’t log back in on the phone.
So for the time being, check it out on SoundCloud (tried getting a link but my app is broken) but I’m very excited for BlockTunes and will be using it a lot to share my music. I would like to know if when a track is minted and then put up for sale, does it automatically generate a hive post on my feed similar to 3speak?
Going back to the talk of travel. I’ve been having an ongoing conversation with @shanibeer about Cyprus, as I’ve mixed feelings about the place and think that, staying in the wrong hotel put me off but now I’m remembering the bits that I really liked and that I could be wrong to judge the country so poorly!!
This is where the real value in Hive lies, the genuine connection between us all, the deep conversations.

Looks like you have been busy. I am reading the Richard Osman book too. The photo reminds me of the Linux group I used to go to years ago. That was great fun as I would see new stuff there. Maybe I should start a new one.

The pool sounds amazing, what a great facility to have near by.
It went very well. Extremely busy and hopefully we’ve gained new members from it!
Enjoy the Pool, Nick! I am off to a weekend with my Kids.
Sounds like fun! Chaos ensues yeah? Of are they easy going? 😛
