Hello and welcome!
Today I am going to talk a little bit of Arctic Monkeys, their new album to be specific, (in this post I am just going to talk about the band, biography, albums and their new album).
Now… Let’s start
ARCTIC MONKEYS
Arctic Monkeys is a British indie or alternative rock band made by Alex Turner, Nick O’Mailey, Jamie Cook and Matt Helders.
Actual members of the band:
- Alex Turner: Singer (he plays guitar too)
- Nick O’Mailey: Bass
- Jamie Cook: Guitar
- Matt Helders: Drums
In 2001, Alex Turner and Jamie Cook decided to set up a rock band with their Christmas instruments, Matt Helders and Andy Nicholson joined too.
The name for the band was the name of Matt Helders’s uncle band that he has in the 70’s but then it was changed and the name of the band was Arctic Monkeys because Alex Turner’s father had a band when he was younger by the name of: Arktik Monkeez.
All of this was just a lie that Arctic Monkeys did just to fool with everyone and with the interviewers, the name of the band came up because Jamie Cook wanted it to be called like that.
The idea of the band came up to Jamie’s head when he was at school.

Humbug, Suck It and See and AM where recorded in their base year but they started to publish singles of the album passing the years to then have the full album.
AM and Favourite Worst Nightmare are my favorite albums from Arctic Monkeys, both of them have songs that are happy, some of them can make you happier, the best songs from each album for me are:

I think I like most of the songs on the album, this is the best album for me after Favourite Worst Nightmares:

NEW ALBUM: Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino
Let’s talk about the new album that is coming this May 11th, this is confirmed by the itself.
Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino is going to be dropped this 2018 and Alex Turner said that they are not going to reveal any song before the album isn’t published.
They say that the album was going to be a solo album for Alex Turner because it was more personal than a project of a band.
Here you can see what Jamie Cook said about this:
"I think at first, because it was quite basic - piano, vocal and no guitar - Al was in two minds about, ‘is this Arctic Monkeys or am I going somewhere else with this, and maybe at first, I was a bit like that as well. It’s definitely not a guitar-heavy record, not typically what we’d do. It took a lot more thinking about." ~ Jamie Cook on the new album.
With this, I can say that this new album is going to have calm songs, maybe there will be guitar and drums, but not in a heavy way like Jamie Cook said. I don’t have any problem with this because I really like calm songs but if the album has a “rock” song I would be more satisfied.

I got to say that the names of the songs are very cool hahaha.

So that’s all for this post, just wanted to talk about the band and the new album. I will do a review of the songs the moment when they publish the entire album.
If you want to hear something else from them then you can hear Alex Turner’s EP that is called: Submarine, that were made for the film. Submarine has awesome songs like:

- Piledriver Waltz
- Glass in the park
These songs are really “soft”, (I don’t know how to say it) and very, very calm. I really liked this EP.

Can't wait for this 2018 album! Both of these albums have a special place in my heart and there's not a bad song on them but "A Certain Romance" from 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not' and "Only Ones Who Know" from 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' are the epitome of nostalgia and fondness for good, old friends.
Hahaha, I forgot "A Certain Romance", but I was talking about FWN and AM, so I couldn't include them. But nice to say that, thanks. And yes, I forgot "Only Ones Who Know" as well hahahaha, sorry.
