in #music6 years ago

Howdy there,
The last music preview was Mura Masa-Love$ick feat. Asap Rocky.

We have something special here this time. No ordinary music preview. This one is a playlist featuring only Coachella 2018 artists. Shout outs to @justlikejorge for the idea who commented this:

(Fictional Story)
Imagine...
The COACHELLA SCRAPED playlist starts playing in a packed minivan. Filled with five friends nearly out of high school, many overpacked bags in the trunk, and a ton of Vodka that has already been opened. The alcohol is passed around the minivan. The scantily clad youngsters flying down a two lane road with heat rippling off the pavement, dancing to the SCRAPED COACHELLA playlist. Arms out of the sun roof.

Jason in the driver seat notices the gas light has turned on. The party van is in the middle of nowhere, not many gas stations or stores for miles. They keep driving for another twenty miles with butt holes puckered. Only to find one run down gas station that looks nearly abandoned. With no other hope Jason pulls into the gas station. He turns down the music slightly in fear. All the scantily clad partiers looking around speechless.

The rundown shack has a sign half falling off the building, and the wood paneling on the side has holes near the ground. Stacey says "I want water, we only have vodka and orange juice in the van." Jason the bravest of the group agrees to go in the shop. No choice as their is no acceptance of debit cards on the gas pump. If the gas pump even works. Jason and Stacey get out of the van and slowly walk into the store. Stacey already has glow paint drawn onto her stomach and arms. Jason wearing a samurai headband and a BrockHampoton t-shirt.

A rat runs by, familiar music is playing faintly in the shack. Jason walks through the front door first. His eyes adjust to the lighting change. Seeing a man filling up a small gas can. Surrounded by uneven wooden shelving holding nick-nacks, bobble heads, and old movie memorabilia. The smell of cigarettes and mold invade Jason and Stacey's noses. They walk in further creaking a board, grabbing the attention of the man pouring gasoline. He looks up quickly. A fat dip of chewing tobacco in his lip, dirty jeans, and a ripped baseball cap. "Well looky there, a couple more good looking kiddos walked into my shop."

Jason and Stacey look at each other frightened. All the kids in the minivan intently watching the darkness through the front door of the shack. "You two going to Coachella?" the disheveled man asks. "Yes. Looking for some gas." Jason responds hesitantly. "I always get more customers during the week of Coachella than any other time. Some lucky kids you are, never been to Coachella cause this is when I get my business. But I've been listening to the COACHELLA SCRAPED playlist all day." "We've been listening to the same thing on our ride here!" Jason exclaims now enthusiastic and comfortable. "Right on! Knew I liked you two when I first saw you. I like your Brockhampton shirt too!" "Thanks" Jason looks at Stacey with a smile. She awkwardly smiles back.

"Well Im filling up these here gas cans. I'll manually fill your car, the pump hasn't worked for years." He gets back to pouring. "Did you guys find the SCRAPED playlist on Steemit or Dtube?" Jason and Stacey confused, "No just on Spotify." "Ill tell you what I may not look like I know about the new technology and web .0 type of shit. But Steemit and Dtube seem like the future of social media networking to me. I don't like having me data stolen by those Zuckerborg types, and I like me crypto currency. Because fuck the government you know what Im saying." Jason and Stacey give a polite laugh. The man take the gas can to the minivan and gives a friendly wave to the people inside. Jason asks "Steemit is what is called?" "Ya, Steemit, decentralized social media network where you get paid for your content through upvotes. If your gonna make some posts about Coachella, might as well start a Steemit account and post there." Jason interested, says "cool Ill give it a look." The man runs in after pouring the gas and gives them a few free water bottles. "Have a good time ya'll!" The party van parties on.

(Talking About the Artists and Coachella)
There is a myriad of fantastic artists that are performing at Coachella 2018 and are featured in this playlist. I'll only talk about a few of them. Because I want to go more in depth individually.

Coachella is a curious case in itself. Three days of drinking and doing drugs in the hot sun. Constant energy required to go to each performance you are looking forward to, and even more money required to survive the entire time. Ridiculous for some, un passable for others. Its the one time of the year for Coachella to make money, and for some people one of the only times of the year that they let loose and enjoy life to its fullest. This music festival isn't for the faint of heart or the elderly. Coachella seems to manifest the most "trendy" artists of the time.

One of those being the boy band BROCKHAMPTON. Who are featured multiple times on the COACHELLA SCRAPED playlist. These guys have blown UP in the past couple of years. They released three banger albums, Saturation 1,2, and 3. They call themselves a boyband, but they sound like the dopest rap group to have existed since Odd Future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_ZRRlVDVa8&list=PLPUgzEESe933HT3Fvi8ZRVsz37UGDZFVD

Another artists heavily featured in this playlist is Amine. He blew up non-shelont and out of nowhere with his song Caroline. Now has 220 million views. Seems like he doesn't give a fuck, and that I would love to hang out with him. He has catchy verses and recognizable style. Love the inclusion of yellow in all of his videos.
