After being inactive for about 15 days, I have decided to write again and hopefully for a long time. (I have been without writing anything for personal reasons, I hope you understand)
Are they really the Trap and Reggaeton (yes, I've had to look how to write it) music?
To begin with the post I want to say that the article will be based merely on my experience in music and everything I have learned from it added to my view of society today.
To go deeper into the subject, both genres are characterized (musically speaking) by having many different basses along the songs emulating a melody in addition to the one that already has the song itself based on the chords and notes that compose them.
Speaking of the chords that compose it, most of the songs in these genres (although more like Reggeaton) always have very similar chords and that's why when sometimes when we listen to a Reggeaton song we feel that it is very similar to another one, even though they are by artists who have nothing to do with each other; in addition to the fact that most of the chords they use in their songs are "TRIADS " chords, to avoid going into too much detail these are chords that only have 3 notes, and in my opinion for a song to be structurally good, it has to have the combination of both "TRIADS " chords and "4 NOTES " chords (chords of 4 or more notes) depending on the tonality in which it is found.
To conclude, Reggeaton and Trap in themselves are music, for some people it may seem offensive to their morals and they describe it as the cancer of society and together with those who listen to it; they are musical genres because they follow the guidelines established by this great art that is music; both have melody and harmony in their themes, have chords and may even be danceable and singable, despite the fact that a part of society criticizes them.
For me music can be of all colors, and everyone decides what they like and will enjoy, although in my opinion there are better and more elaborate genres structurally speaking.
