a country can be said to be a democratic country if it contains 4 characteristics,
-first is the existence of a fair electoral mechanism so as to enable the public to vote or change his government.
-second, the active participation of citizens in politics.
-Third, protection of human rights.
-Fourth, everyone's equality is in the eyes of the law.
All developed countries on this earth use a democratic system so that we can draw conclusions that there is something behind democracy that triggers or at least become a container that makes progress in a country more likely to be achieved.
because democracy is only a tool that makes people have the opportunity to choose the best candidates, provide opportunities to supervise and criticize elements in government, and provide an opportunity for people to ask for transparency and provide an opportunity for people to "punish" the party or someone who is corrupt or incompetent by not having it anymore. these opportunities are generally not available in non-democratic systems.
