My story - My husband has not achieved anything in life and I want to divorce him

in #my-story8 years ago

I am now 40 years old. Married at 20, my husband at that time was 23 years old. We have two children, 19 and 18 years old. For 20 years of marriage, I worked hard and made a career - I now have a good position and salary.

Husband all these years almost did not develop at all. He opened a small service company 20 years ago - he builds fences, balconies. I expected that the company would develop, he would have staff, but he worked as one from the beginning, and to this day is working. Only his back "dashed" from the weight. Grow and develop, he does not want or can not. It's hard for me to respect him, since I get more and by status is much higher than him. What should I do? To leave? I'm afraid, and ashamed to leave it only because of the "low status".

Earlier I always argued my indecision with children, they say, we should have been together for them. But the children have already grown up.

Maybe it's better to leave us, and he will find a simple woman without any requests, who will look at him with admiration? He at home himself knows how to repair everything, every night he spends his time at home. But these are not my values. How to make it so that he wants more, grow and develop? I want to look at him with respect and pride, and he comes dirty, because the whole day he repairs other people's fences on his knees. I do not see a chance for us in the future.

Sort:

You deserve what you want, just good in your life.
If you live unpleasant life, All those around you feel it (your kids also).
Thinking not leave because of the children - is just wrong.

The only problem I see here is: A few years ago, You made a bad decision.
You do not have to continue with something that makes you feel...
As far as I know, we live only once
