Altadena - Show Us Your California

in #mycalifornia3 months ago

Hi friends,

This post is an entry into the Weekly Show Us Your California contest hosted by @thesocalhive where we share an aspect of our California.

As you may know, Southern California had some devastating and unprecedented wildfires a few months ago. I found myself close by one of the hard hit areas - Altadena - so I decided to drive through the neighborhood... very sad scene:

Pictures do not do it justice, but much of the city was wiped out overnight, though most lives were spared. There has been non stop trucking activity going to clear debris from the area, and many crews are there with heavy equipment. There are biohazard issues as well, so it is a tough spot to be in, and the rebuilding will take years. Sad.

Thanks for coming by and checking out a piece of my California.

Very sad.

As a country where there is wild fire every summer, I know it is sad to visit burnt places.

I haven't drove up to that area since the fires, but those pictures say it all. What a horrible loss of property and memories for all those who survived. Then there were those who died... What a shame!

Thank you for participating in this weeks Show us Your California contest!

Wildfires can be crazy and cost people their lives
I hope things get better
