Yes, you heard it right. My real name is Gerlie. I used to hate my name because for me, I am quite the opposite of it. I chose Gerlism as my account name here in HIVE/PEAKD as it is derived from my given name Gerlie + ism, a suffix that denotes action and quality, which I relate to myself since I really express my true words and deeds from the source of my character, in short, I always am being true to myself.

May 4, 2004, was the first time I breathed air, and it felt incredible. It was the day I declared myself alive, and it was the beginning of my fairy tale. Now, I look like in my twenties, although I am seventeen years of age and about to turn eighteen. But mentally, I am still twelve years old. I am the third child of my parents. Cebu City, Philippines, is where I was born and raised. Taurus is my astrological sign. Green is my favorite color because it symbolizes nature and tranquility, which gives me a sense of refreshment and peace. I am a Senior High School Student and currently enrolled in Southwestern University PHINMA. I never expected that I would be one of the privileged ones to be granted the HK Scholarship at SWU PHINMA and to be enrolled in such a great school with such a high quality of education in medical field. As a student, I learned to be considerate to others and to meet challenges, the challenges which fueled my desire to continue striving toward my ambition.
Again, Gerlie is the name, but my friends usually call me "Gerlay" and the nickname that my family calls me is "Gigi". Cuarteron is my family name. I have read a lot of Wattpad stories and have fallen in love with fictitious characters. Browsing through social media memes is fun, I relax by watching Korean drama and movies, and those are my hobbies and boredom relievers. I am a modest person that wants to be surrounded by positive people because they make me feel good.
As a teenager, I learned that you can have anything, but not everything which helps me understood and taught myself to control. I am just like an artifact; that I am one-of-a-kind and special in my own way, but I am also fragile and have only one me. I am a happy-go-lucky person who enjoys life and accepts things as they happen rather than worrying about unnecessary things. Enjoying life and living in the moment is something I believe in. We only get one life, and so we must make the most of it. That is why my sister, Rich from @lakwatserangthik introduced me to Hive, where I can write a blog like my diary and reminisce about wonderful memories. I am the type of person who forgets everything after it happens, especially on enjoyable occasions. Thus, Hive will help me in keeping my happy times, experiences, adventures, and happenings in my life.
That statement has struck a chord with me, and I have realized that I am living into it. Since happiness allows me to feel contented, secured, and relaxed. I wanted to choose happiness no matter what happen.
On the side note, I would like to thank @patsitivity for onboarding me and my sister Rich from @lakwatserangthik for encouraging me to join this online platform- HIVE/ PEAKD. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity of learning about HIVE/ PEAKD at this age since it could also help me enhance my imagination, creativity and English skills over the months and counting.
