Hoy fue un día precioso. Amanecí arropada en amor y anochezco satisfecha.
Conversaba sobre las últimas noticias en el mundo. Varias veces se me hicieron nudos en la garganta.
La tragedia es humana, me dijo mi papá.
Y aunque nada resultó ser como yo me imaginaba, ha sido un día de celebrar la vida. Hubo espacio para la serenidad y – contra todo pronóstico, nada terminó en desastre.
Entonces, sentada con las manos sobre los muslos y la respiración suelta, escuché campanas y alcé mi rezo.

Today was a beautiful day. I woke up covered in love and I go to bed satisfied.
I was talking about the latest news in the world. Several times my throat felt like a knot.
Tragedy is human, my dad said.
And even though nothing turned out the way I imagined, it was a day of celebrating life. There was room for serenity and – against all odds, nothing ended in disaster.
Then, sitting with my hands on my thighs and breathing freely, I heard bells and I lifted up my prayer.
Everything is fine.
