Goat cheese and its properties

in #naturalproducts5 years ago (edited)

Greetings friends.

This week I had a bad experience buying cheese. Previously we used to buy goat and buffalo cheese, since they are very healthy, unlike cow cheese. Currently, it is very difficult to consume those types of cheeses here in Venezuela because they are very expensive, but they are really healthy.

My husband and I met goat and buffalo cheese, when our first daughter was born, since she was born with intolerance to cow's milk protein, therefore, the pediatrician recommended us that we substitute cow cheese for goat cheese and buffalo cheese.

Today I want to mention some properties of goat cheese.

Goat cheese provides healthy fats, has fewer calories than other cheeses and is digested even better. There are different types of goat cheese that range from fresh natural to spiced.

The method of production of these products influences the organoleptic properties with which from one type to another it can have some variations in terms of fatty acid composition, pH levels and humidity, salt and mineral content. Soft cheeses tend to have fewer calories, less fat and less protein than seasoned and, therefore, hard.

In terms of production, France, with its ancient tradition of eating goat cheese, remains one of the leading producers of different types of goat cheese. The quality and taste of milk and cheese are directly related to the place where goats graze.

Since this type of cheese has become famous for having healthy properties, its consumption has spread worldwide.

Another reason for the demand for goat's milk stems from the increasing incidence of cow's milk allergy and other gastrointestinal diseases. Cow's milk allergy is the most common in the first years of life, so milk from other mammal species, including goats, is recommended as good alternatives.

Compared to cow's milk, goat's milk contains higher amounts of caprylic acid. This is also the reason why goat's milk tastes more acidic than cow's milk. These acids promote energy metabolism and are easily digested.

The caprylic acid present in this cheese has antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties, which can be useful to fight infections such as Candida, acne and digestive problems.

This cheese contains probiotics, good bacteria that bring health benefits in several ways. Probiotic-rich diets promote digestive health, reduce inflammation and stimulate the immune system, as I mentioned in my publication of lactic ferments. Depending on the types of goat cheese the type of probiotic may vary.

As for allergies, goat dairy products contain mainly casein A2, a type of protein that has been shown to be less allergenic and less inflammatory than the A1 variety.

That is why cheeses derived from goat's milk are often more nutritious, healthier for many gastrointestinal diseases, easier to digest, less allergenic than cheeses derived from cow's milk, and goat's milk is more similar to Human breast milk and can improve the body's ability to absorb nutrients.

Goat cheese is one of my favorites. I really like a good feta!

That's right, although I have time without eating it. Thank you for your visit.

I too preferred goat's milk products to cow's for my child. Or sheep. Not because he was cow intolerant: on the contrary, we reach for this Motherly Creature's goodness specifically when we want to connect more firmly to earth. But cow's milk is very hard on the digestion (hence the earthing power you could extract from it). Wonderful how you spread this information.

That's right, goat cheese has many properties, I just mentioned a few. Thank you for visiting me.

Happy day!
