Grass growing in a tree.

I went for a walk the other day and spotted this tree with grass growing in a hole on the trunk. I found it strange so thought I would share.

Pretty cool find. Is it a living tree, or just a stump? Some dirt, or a lot of blowing sand, dust and dirt must have gotten trapped in the hole.
