Conservation is the best way to make good use of the resources to ensure continuity.

Aim of Release
To re-introduce them into the wild which is their natural environment where they belong
So that they can increase as they reproduce.

Specie Of Monkeys Released
i)Monna monkey
ii)Red capped mangabees

This monkeys were in extinct in the wild and so with the re introduction the population will increase as they reproduce .
To ensure success they make sure that
they

  • eat enough food
    -They are not stressed
    -Adapt to the environment
    -Associate with other monkeys in the wild.

Steps Taken In Release Project Survey
i)Monkey specie
ii)Food (forest food,plant survey)
iii)Map release
iv)Create Groups
v)Plan new groups
vi)Receive result of disease testing
vii)Building Enclosure
Build 3 enclosure
Cages, they vary in size
Pre-Release (2-3month)
-Fit monkey with radio caller (for tracking)
-Transport monkey from sanctuary to cross river national park

Types of Release

i) Soft release; you build enclosure,monitor and provide food for the monkey,assess their adaptation to the wild and observe their interaction with the wild population

ii) Hard release; you release the primate based on wild and large population release, these occurs mostly when they removed directly from devastated area to be re located to a new home range.

Challenges
i) Difficulty of interacting with each other through sound since they are not used to life in the wild.
ii) Not been able to escape dangers
iii) Human disturbance
