My Honey Locust Tree

When I visited my house for the first time, before I started to live in it, I fell in love with honey locust tree behind the house. This gentle giant covers the whole backyard like an umbrella, and in a spring whole area smells like the garden of Eden because of its flowers.

Spring is the time when my loctus tree becomes alive...first come rainbow lorikeets, then other birds and bees. While browsing through my photo collection I came across these photos taken with my first DSLR - Nikon d3100 and 55-300 mm Nikkor lens.

To refresh them a little bit I used an orange-teal color palette, I think it fits them perfectly. I hope you will like them as much as I do.

Oh, thank you kindly!

Very nice pictures! I want to take a walk through my backyard and take some picture of our dogwoods and garden.

You should, you don’t have to take a long walk for some beautiful shots. Thank you!

Beautiful. So alive.

Thank you dear!

Hermosas fotos, amo la naturaleza!!

Muchas Gracias!

Are these parrots, Di? They are so colorful 😍

Yes, they are...lorikeets, you can find all colors of the rainbow on them...the only minus is that they are really loud.

I can imagine... Do you have parrots in your house? :)

No need for that, I have all kinds of birds in the backyard all year long, and they are more beautiful when they are free. Two of the lorikeets behave like my pets, don't fly away when I get close and return every year.

Wow, this is so nice! I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to make friends with a couple of crows that I meet on my way to work. They always fly away when I try to get closer.

Try with food trick, next time when you see them try to drop some food and keep walking, after two or three days, they will be waiting for you, few more days of getting closer and closer they could maybe start eating out of your hands. That trick worked for me 100%.

I'm doing this tomorrow :) I wonder if they'll eat bread 😂
Thanks for the tip, Di!
