Norway´s privilege "problems" right before Halloween and through Christmas

in #new7 years ago (edited)

So when Halloween and Christmas as closing in and of course Black Friday. Norwegians lose their shit.

the prices on everything from candy too food and drinks as well as everything thats on sale on Black Friday and after Christmas drops too an insanely low price.

It always starts near halloween. for halloween there is candy and soda ect. that drops massively in price.

for instance:

On Saturday, BN Bank's consumer economist Silje Havdal was at Coop Mega ( food store ) in Trondheim together with his son Filip to buy a little Saturday goodies.

There they were faced with chaotic conditions. The grocery chain had lowered the kilo price on small quantities from 149 kr to 30 kr. so thats from 18,61$ a kilo to 3,75$

  • People were crazy and pushed and did not let others go. I helped an elderly lady with a walker who would like to secure some chocolate bites. She could not get up, so I elbled myself and fetched the box with the chocolate she wanted, "says Havdal.

"It was a maximum of three kilos per person, and I saw one who, among other things, stood and weighed the small cod - now we have 2.96 kilos," he exclaimed. It was absolutely absurd, she describes.

The son was allowed to buy a little Saturday-like equivalent to "normal ration", and ended up with a price of almost three dollars. In isolation, they saved the money on offer, but it did not seem like many others did

It has begun. Now when December hits we will see kilos of prime meat and Christmas related foods / candy and of course beverages drop so low that you end up feeling bad. we are talking a reduction from 50-90 % of shelf prices.
