Torture Victims of False Arrest, YARA Asks the Chief of Police to Dismiss North Aceh Police Chief

As in the murder case that befell Bripka Faisal, the North Aceh District Police released three of the six suspected murderers.

Not only were arrested, the three people who became arrested also received harsh treatment from the police, and one of the people arrested named Bahagia was even battered, due to being beaten by irresponsible elements.

This was conveyed by the secretary of YARA, Fakhrurrazi, "The Police cannot detect themselves so that this case of wrongful arrest does not occur and actually makes people uneasy
Moreover, circulating photos of victims of wrongful arrests looked battered due to being beaten.

Still said Fakhrurrazi, "the arrest of victims by the North Aceh Regional Police seemed very forced, the people who were suspected first arrested and examined under pressure.

"We suspect that there is a forced effort from the Police in exposing the perpetrators of the crime of Bripka Faisal's murder where two suspects have died, are they really guilty.

With the wrong arrest, it shows that there is violence committed by the Aceh Regional Police in carrying out tasks that are not in accordance with the Police Protap and there are indications of carelessness in carrying out their duties, "he explained.

We hope that the principles and standards of Human Rights (HAM) must be carried out by the police in each of their duties, including in the case of arresting suspects of criminal acts.

Investigators (in this case the police) are prohibited from using violence or suppression in any form when making arrests. YARA Secretary said

"We hope that with this case, the police will be more selective in carrying out their duties, and prioritize the presumption of innocence in dealing with someone suspected of being involved.
