The Missing Link to Brandon Bryant – Former US Air Force drone operator quit his service due to moral reasons.

in #news7 years ago (edited)

"Brandon Bryant is an American drone operator who is personally responsible for the death  of 13 persons and was involved in the “targeted killing” of 1.626  people." Dirk Pohlmann / KenFM

Informed people might care more. Former drone operator gives answers!

I heard the saying "If the good majority does not do anything, the evil minority will win." I feel that there is something to it. One thing we can do, we can built up our empathy. Everybody does everything for their very rational reasons. What can be the reason for a drone pilot to begin and continue with his service? And why did he quit.

I found this Interview at www.kenfm.de/kenfm-international/english/ and think it is worth sharing. Finding common grounds instead of dualism could be very useful to bring peace to places. Imagine, what if i.e. Afghanistan would bring democracy to Europe or elsewhere with all the rest of it.

As an adventure rider I came across many places in the Orient, hearing their stories and found out, as many did before me, that we all have the same wishes. Family, peace, health, love, amusement and being social in our communities. How a drone interacts with it´s target is a shocking physical and psychological impact. I don´t want to have brought justice over me in that way!

If you think we should solve conflicts in a peaceful and mature manner, this interview might be an addition to your knowledge base.

"Killing people on a computer monitor and being reduced to the role of  executioner became increasingly more difficult for him and he developed  post-traumatic stress syndrome.
After Brandon Bryant got trained for a  special unit he stopped. At that time he often thought of suicide. He  was only able to save himself by strictly following his conscience and  refusing to follow the orders of his superior or the military.
In  this interview with Dirk Pohlman Brandon Bryant is portrayed as a man of  unusual clarity of thought, sharp intellect and personal integrity.  Especially German viewers will notice the similarity to Claus Schenck  Graf von Stauffenberg as well as Hans and Sophie Scholl." D. Pohlmann / KenFM

Did you enjoy watching the interview? I hope you heard something new. If it brought more spectrum to your horizon, I´ll be glad to hear that.

Socialize, go out into the nature, be kind to yourself and enjoy the day!
