Dictionaries seem to add new words way too often.
For some time now reports of "new" words added to the dictionary have generally been novel and fun. Even the broadcasters seem to enjoy reporting on the new words added to the dictionary.
There are reasons to take issue with new words added to the dictionary. Too often these keepers of our language enshrine vernacular and slang amongst more important and "higher class" words.
Reporting on new words must have been popular. You can now here these reports several times a year due to their being several dictionaries. It follows that dictionaries will add more words, more slang and vernacular in order to gain attention, sell dictionaries and encourage the use of online products.

There were 110 words added. I narrowed them down bigly. Some on the list are signs of the times, some are ours and some should not have been dignified. Most of the words are self-explanatory and any I hadn't heard of, I took off the official list.

I can't believe normie made it into the dictionary. That is a sign of the times. now we just need to make being a normie the worst thing ever.
