A few days after State and Federal law agencies gathered five major fentanyl suppliers in eastern Pennsylvania, the customs and border protection (CBP) seized more than 110 pounds of the drug Fentanyl at a port located at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. According to CBP agents it was worth about $2 million. Pennsylvania is not unfamiliar with the drug Fentanyl. With that being said Pennsylvania is also not unfamiliar to large shipments of the drug from China that is usually in the hands of street and darknet market dealers. while doing a routine inspection of packages at the area port of Philadelphia. A narcotics K-9 unit alerted CBP agents to a shipment of iron oxide from China.
CBP agents then got into their protective gear - something they do at an increasing rate - they then disassembled the shipment. Inside of the shipment they found a number of containers that had an appearence of legitimacy, the agents also found 50 packages of white powder. They later found out that the powder inside was Fentanyl. Although by the number of packages they got on a daily basis they probrobly knew it was Fentanyl before reaching the lab.
