Russia is supporting and providing arms to the Taliban, Gen John Nicholson, the head of US powers in Afghanistan, told the BBC in a meeting.
Nicholson, amid the meeting distributed on Friday, said he had seen "destabilizing movement by the Russians", charging that Russian weapons were carried over the Tajik outskirt to the Taliban. He, nonetheless, did not state in what amount.
"We see a story that is being utilized that horribly misrepresents the quantity of Isis [Islamic State group] warriors here," Gen Nicholson was cited as saying by the BBC. "This account at that point is utilized as an avocation for the Russians to legitimize the activities of Taliban and give some level of help to the Taliban."
"We've had stories composed by the Taliban that have showed up in the media about budgetary help gave by the foe," he included. "We've had weapons conveyed to this central command and given to us by Afghan pioneers who stated, 'This was given by the Russians to the Taliban' — we realize that the Russians are included."
Russian authorities have already denied giving guide to the aggressors, saying that their restricted contacts were gone for conveying the Taliban to the arranging table.
A year ago in March, the US media had detailed that Russia was giving political authenticity and military supplies to the Taliban in Afghanistan.
"American military officers see a developing Russian push to reinforce the Taliban's authenticity and undercut (the US and) Nato's military exertion there," CNN had revealed.
A representative for the Russian outside service had rejected the cases as "completely false", claiming that such declarations were "intended to legitimize the disappointment of the American political and military battles" in Afghanistan.
