The candidates of the party supported by Former Prime Minister Imran Khan are gaining ground against rival parties since the gap of seats is increasing. In the preliminary report of the Election Commission in the 220- seat asylum, Imran backed independence is ahead but the second place is held by Nawaz Sharif's party. The Bilawal Bhutto Zardari led faction comes next.
Online reports of the Pakistan Election Commission indicate that independent candidates won 90 seats out of 220, these are mostly candidates backed by Imran Khan. Nawaz party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) grabbed 62 seats which resulted in the party securing second position while Bilawal’s Pakistan Peoples Party stood at third spot with 50 seats. Furthermore, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) obtained 11 seats, whilst IPPP and ICWP received seats as well.
In addition, the Pakistani online news Dawn Online have indicated that Imran Khan's wing, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), endorsed candidates that obtained 58 seats. The report showed that the party of Nawaz's got 43 seats, finishing second along side the party of Bilawal who claimed 34 seats landing them third. Other rivals won 11 seats.
Pakistan's National Assembly with 265 seats, one reserved seat, held voting yesterday, Thursday. Any party will have to get over 134 seats to form a government. In Pakistan National Assembly, total number of seats are 336 ( viz. direct election of 270, reserved for 60 women, and 10 minority seats).
