Universal Basic Income

in #news6 years ago

This is a buzzword lately.

The theory goes something like this:

We are in an age of plenty that was driven by advances in technology. Therefore technology should be able to afford to pay for everyone's basic needs. Therefore we need a human right that consists of being paid money by some sort of government agency to cover our expenses.

It sounds nice, who wouldn't want free money?

So I found a group that is using cryptocurrency to make this dream come true. Everyone who signs up gets a few tokens every week based on the simple fact that you are a unique human being and you deserve some free money. I signed up just for fun over a week ago, and it seems to be true, I received my first batch of tokens 7 days after I joined. Apparently, they will do this for anyone who can sign up. Cell phones are required for verification process. Other than that, you are good to go.

If you got this far, check it out through this link:
https://www.mannabase.com/?ref=07733d4562
Apparently, I will get some sort of bonus for signing people up with my link and I am curious as to what that bonus will turn out to be. If someone does sign up under me, I will make a follow up post about the reward.

Cheers!

Thanks and my Kryptonia account is @ianstevenson

Thanks for spreading the word on UBI! I'm a fan.
While the token isn't actually created, yet SwiftDemand is similar to mannabase and is awarding distributions. I won't post my ref link here since it's your post :)
I can't get manna because of the cell phone requirement.
Also be sure to check out @steembasicincome. It's not technically UBI since you have to buy in and be active, but it has many of the same concepts.

Thanks, I will check that out.

Nice post

get the fuck out with your socialist program, in other words you want everyone else pay for your free money, and the worse thing is that you want to force people using coercion of the goverment and kill or imprison everybody who don't want to pay for your stuff. So, fuck off you cunt!

It doesn't appear to be a socialist program. It appears to be a cryptocurrency airdrop. Well, a weekly airdrop to any human being that signs up to the program. And the free market will determine if these coins will have any value. I read through the white paper and can find nothing that goes against my libertarian outlook.

Volunteers seem to do most of the heavy lifting with the development work. It was seeded by donations from charitable organizations. Those organizations acquire their money not from taxation, but from people who freely decided to donate. This seed money was used to create the crypto blockchain and approximately 10 years worth of airdrops of the coins. But this is hard to figure out accurately and will probably be exhausted sooner. After that, the amount of coins will be inflated at a 3.5% per year, which will be the basis of future weekly airdrops to whomever signed up.

It looks like a really interesting experiment, and I am curious as to how it will go.
