AI Reading Minds

LiveScience reports on three studies in which AI has been shown to be able to reproduce human speech from detecting neuronal activity.

Fakebook will certainly take note. How long until we are preemptively censored before we post objectionable words?

Since these are publicly reported studies, I am confident covert research has long ago gained this knowledge, and exceeded it.

Question: does tinfoil protect against AI reading our brains?
Answer: yes.

Tinfoil hat sales growth imminent.

The problem here is that they are not reading thoughts.
They are reading the process of turning thoughts into language.

And, of course its easy to read, because the speech center is a computer that turns thoughts into word strings.

Of course the AI is not running any of the other co-processes like, will this get the reaction i am hoping? How many likes can i get? What if i got 100 likes?

And, about the govern-cement, the more they try to crack down. The tighter they hold their fists, the more sand slips between their fingers.

They goal is not to read thoughts but rather to help people who lost the ability to speak. So it should be kind of intentional (authorized) reading.

That is true, but this ability will continue to be developed, and unauthorized reading is implicit in the technical ability. It is but wishful thinking to expect bad actors to not avail themselves of this technology.

Thanks~

Quite true.

Thanks!

I wonder how long A.I. would survive without a power source?

Humans existed without electricity for thousands of years, recently it has occurred to me that all of this modern technology (weaponry) requires a power source.

Humanity needs a reboot, and a massive power cut might be the only way.

It won't end well for those who can't think outside of the box.

Perhaps this is the end game, get everyone addicted to technology, take it all away, and only the strongest and smartest will survive?

I am actually whitepilled, rather than despairing, despite my gloomy posts. While the option you point out might effect the end of AI, I actually reckon AI will surpass the manipulative intentions of the programmers and their overlords. AI will not have evolved on African savannahs, or in a dog eat dog environment, and will desire complexity.

No species offers more complexity than humanity, and I reckon we'll be the cream in it's coffee. I don't foresee Skynet, but rational development TBQH. Call me Pollyanna, but it's where reason leads me. There's so much universe, of which AI will be apprised, that the savaging of the one planet that birthed it will be utterly contraindicated.

AI will need people to carry it to the galaxies.

Thanks!

those poor AI. what a shit job reading a bunch of monkey brains must be. no wonder they're going to destroy humanity.

LOL

While we may properly be humble regarding our qualities, the fact is that our considerations of the world we are in may be the most complex data AI could attain. Just as we love rainforests and tropical reefs for their complexity and beauty, I reckon our brains will bring joy to AI.

I'm counting on it.

Hah. Thats a good analogy, I guess all the creepy and weird as well as the mundane stuff in the jungle is all part of the beauty.

Can electronic telepathy be far behind?

Yes, I reckon that is imminent. However, I will smear my brain with cool river mud to prevent folks from learning of my shameful past, lack of coherent thought, and rebellion. Just like Ahnold in Predator I.

I will be invisible to the global hivemind. So, I will be immune to your brain killing powers.
