I had a discussion today about how little pebbles in your path can trip you up sometimes and make you feel like you just stumbled over a mountain. It came up because I recently said some things that in retrospect were probably not particularly wise. What's done is done and while I can't undo it, I can change my attitude surrounding the little pebbles going forward.

Today I want to show you this drawing that I called Lady Purple and share a little of how I made it. A month ago, more or less, I bought a graphic tablet of the brand Huion model H420, it is a small tablet whose screen is about 17.6 centimeters and with which I have made this first digital drawing from the sketch to its entirety, I also made use of the mouse (old habit) while I get used using only the tablet.

That said, my audiobook this week hasn’t been uplifting. Usually I’d prefer a fantasy, or something a bit more literary. But, in the spirit of friendship, I’m getting through a friend’s book at the moment. It’s a confronting read, I didn’t expect to be confronted with still-births and the pain of loss this week, particularly as I had this friend pegged for writing romance (I know, I know, and I wouldn’t have picked it up without my relationship with the author). I’ll finish the novel next week.

Even before I can remember I have loved this art form, according to my family who has given me a pet name of a former traditional Javanese dancer, which I didn't like because I didn't know the meaning behind it back then. Now I appreciate it of course and writing about it now, makes me realize that I should definitely look more into it.

It is one of my old drawings. Its size is about 54.6*78.7cm. I love to explore subjects about emotion and love. The drawing is one of those topics. I named it "After", but what's it after I'll leave the imaginary space to you.

I enjoy train rides, and I really enjoy long train rides. Train rides provide a unique opportunity to reflect. Train excursions, especially for solo travelers, provide a rare opportunity to be alone with yourself and your thoughts. If there is no black image from the window to occupy your eyes and mind, especially when the sun sets and darkness falls, you are left alone with yourself.

In this opportunity, although it may seem convenient, I am going to react to naradamoon's post Spread the vibes since his exposition of synesthesia applied to music served as inspiration for what I am going to expose below. I believe that this concept of relating an element, be it musical or of any other nature, with colors is undoubtedly in our minds and we probably use it very often in an unconscious way. In that sense, I agree with naradamoon that the song "Don't stop me now" by Queen is undoubtedly red, the energy that prints and makes us feel this theme is strong as the heat of the sun.

When I was a child, I love to receive gifts, and to say the truth, I don't remember if I ever choose a gift, because, you know, usually the choice is up to those who pays. Anyway, my family's income was quite modest though my parents worked hard, and gifts were very rare. Even then, they were often a disappointment.

So while doing other chores I was thinking what to draw. It is always faster, when you have the idea ready. And it all started with a completely different one. But as the day went by it all changed.A few times.
One thing lead to another until I ended up on something that reminded me of Henri Matisse paintings. One paining actually. Oh if only he could participate...
I am sure he would if he didn't die in 1954 :) Then that one paining would look a lot different. Most definitely!

After successfully ordering shoes online, I decided to order another pair of leather shoes for spring. At first I thought that I would order the same model of shoes but in a different color and asked my husband to find that store online. The husband, however, decided to search online for something completely different. He said that he found an interesting model of shoes called loafers.
