I should have expected it coming. Streemian was old an uncurated anyway, yet so simple I couldn't resist. But now it's getting unbearable. On their site they claim their service can be considered "degraded" at this point.
It was indeed noticeable in the recent few days in that some of my curated didn't get the vote they deserved. Since I'm planning for rather high Steem Power, this is unaceptable. This doesn't scale, and might potentially mean valuable loss for some of them.
I can't allow it happen so I'm moving to SteemVoter .Here I had to bite my thumb, however, because this site restricts the amount of people you can curate, or "the number of rules you can define", as they say.
I can be considered lucky because it's dependent only on Steem Power, and I do whatever I can to accumulate that anyway. But it's still not enough.
I'm also somewhat lucky that even with SP having barely above 10 I can "define three rules." But man, look at the current Streemian list.
That's 19 curated users. NINETEEN! All of them making unique content as far as I checked. How do they expect me to be able to sort among them?
Whatever.
My current plan is the following: I choose three curated who I consider benefits the most from my curation proportionally. These are for now @lenarose, @darkmangaka and @bodyscape. From now on, the autovotes for their posts arrive from SteemVoter, while the rest keeps "bonded" to Streemian. And I'm going to manually add the missing upvotes whenever I can.
In the end, of course, the aim is to be able to define 20+ rules. But that needs 500 SP, and that I prefer gaining this amount with posts and curation rewards only doesn't help either.
I don't care, however; in the sense that I'm going on and won't give up. I'm totally honest and genuine about my aims, even if I prefer not to add certain content (e.g. bondage) to my curation list.
Whatever. Transparency report on Thursday. Not bad numbers actually.

Have you considered resteeming as a part of the curation process? It might be a good way to highlight the quality work of the people you're curating. Might even bring them more followers, too!
Considered it several times, yes, but wasn't sure where it'd go. I suck at building follower bases and I'm an old-fashioned boy anyway ;), so I have some bad memories about unlimited reposts and stuff.
On the other hand, that would ACTUALLY make people a reason to upvote, follow and stuff.
Bingo! The best way to build out the network and really help people grow is to engage the network and get people interested.
Engagement is the #1 way to build out your social media network. I would know, I've done it more than a few times...
Sadly I'm constantly suffering from not being able to contribute to engagement on my behalf.
Resteems and comments of support are a good start...
