Anaplasma, known as the tick disease, is a disease that is transmitted by the bite of fleas, lice and in particular by ticks, infected the pet, in this case the kittens damaging their health. Anaplasma is a disease that can be contracted by cats of any age, but the older the cat, the greater the risk of infection and sometimes death, because they are very weak.
The disease penetrates red blood cells and is able to enter or leave the cell where it is hosted, all without affecting it.
The anapplasma presents symptoms, Mr. Cat (one of my feline children) contracted it and was apathetic or sleepy, he looked tired, lost his appetite, in some cases there is also a fever, dehydration among others, it is important that if you see your cat hiding in places like the closet, under the bed, somewhere in your yard or garden where it has shade or a kind of den, in solitary places, this is a symptom that he feels very bad and you should take him to the vet. It is important to point out that Anaplasma, lowers the hemoglobin and causes other values to be altered, making the animal weak.
This disease is diagnosed by means of a test called hemoparasites, (basically a test that looks for organisms that can be transmitted to pets), which is carried out by some clinics that have a laboratory or in private laboratories, a blood sample is taken and it is checked if the animal is positive or negative for Anaplasna.
When looking for more information about this disease, I discovered that mothers can transmit this disease to their offspring at birth. Some of them live their lives without any inconvenience or problem, but if they present any other condition that alters their values, anaplasma is activated.
Now then, as far as the treatment, in Venezuela as I know, by own experience, it is of ambulatory character, that is to say it is applied in house unless the disease is in a very advanced state and the kitty must be hospitalized, retaking the treatment in house, the veterinarians prescribe Doxiciclina by 21 days, each 12 hours, the dose will depend on the weight of the feline and the concentration of the presentation that prescribes or is bought in the market, gastric protector to protect the walls of the stomach and thus to avoid a gastritis.
Anaplasma can't be cured, it's only controlled, and it will occasionally return to annoy your kitten, whether it's triggered by some other condition, or if she becomes stressed or is bitten by a contaminated flea. For those of you who can afford quality pipettes, to protect your felines I recommend you do so, although as many of us know some have lost effectiveness as fleas become resistant to their active ingredients. I also recommend fumigating if possible to eliminate the fleas that actually live in their homes not on your cat, but fleas will be the subject of another publication.
El Anaplasma , conocida como la enfermedad de la garrapata es una enfermedad que se transmite por medio la picada de pulgas, piojos y en particular por las garrapatas, infectado al animal de compañía, en este caso a los gatitos perjudicando su salud. El Anaplasma es una enfermedad que pueden contraer gatos de cualquier edad , pero mientras mas edad tenga el mínimo es mayor el riesgo de ser contagiados llegando en ocaciones al grado de morir debido a que se debilitan mucho.
Está enfermedad penetra a los glóbulos rojos siendo capaz de entrar o salir de la célula donde se hospeda, todo esto sin afectarla.
El anaplasma presenta síntomas, Señor Gato (uno de mis hijos felinos) la contrajo y estaba apático o soñoliento, se veía fatigado, perdió el apetito, en algunos casos también se presenta fiebre, deshidratación entre otros, es importante que si ves a tu gato esconderse en lugares como el closet, debajo de la cama, en algún lugar de tu patio o jardín donde tenga sombra o una especie de guarida, en sitios solitarios, esto es síntoma de que siente muy mal y debes llevarlo al veterinario. Cabe destacar que el Anaplasma , la baja la hemoglobina y hace que otros valores se alteren logrando que animal se debilite.
Está enfermedad se diagnostica por medio de un examen llamado hemoparasitos, (básicamente es una prueba que busca organismos que se pueden transmitir a los animales de compañía ), que realizan algunas clínicas que disponen de laboratorio o en laboratorios particulares , se toma una muestra de sangre y se chequea si el animal es positivo o negativo en Anaplasna.
Al buscar mayor información sobre esta enfermedad descubrí que las madres pueden trasmitir esta enfermedad a sus crias al momento de su nacimiento , algunos de ellos viven sus vidas sin mayor inconveniente o problema, pero de llegar a presentar alguna otra afección que altere sus valores el anaplasma se activa.
Ahora bien, en cuanto al tratamiento , en Venezuela hasta donde conozco, por experiencia propia, es de carácter ambulatorio, es decir se aplica en casa a menos que la enfermedad esté en un estado muy avanzado y el gatito deba ser hospitalizado, retomando lo del tratamiento en casa, los veterinarios recetan Doxiciclina por 21 días, cada 12 horas, la dosis dependera del peso del felino y de la concentración de la presentación que receten o se compre en el mercado, protector gástrico para proteger las paredes del estómago y así evitar una gastritis.
El Anaplasma no tiene cura sólo se controla, de vez en cuando volverá a fastidiar a tu gatito ya sea que se active por alguna otra afección, si se estresa o alguna pulguita contaminada lo pique. Para aquellos que puedan adquirir pipetas de calidad, para proteger a sus felinos les recomiendo que lo hagan, aunque como muchos sabemos algunas han perdido efectividad al hacerse resistentes las pulgas a sus principios activos. También les recomiendo fumigar de ser posible para eliminar las pulgas que en realidad viven en sus casas no sobre tu gato, pero las pulgas serán el tema en otra publicación.
