What’s up, Hive? Good evening/morning to many of you. I’m laying in bed, winding down after a great day. Over the weekend, @guthrie went bowling with his Muay Thai class. I was worried he’d feel out of place or wouldn’t have much fun. He’s gone on bowling field trips with his school and always returned with a lackluster review of the time. After this outing, though, he immediately started asking if we could go together. I’ve been buried in @mirrorpool work so an afternoon to just forget about projects and deadlines seemed like a great idea.
We made the trip to the same bowling alley near our house. It’s been about 12 years since I’ve gone actual bowling and that would have been with @customnature when I used to live in Pennsylvania. We got really in to The Big Lebowski and the bowling theme of the movie rubbed off on us. My bowling name on the overhead screen is always, “Karl Hungus”. Fans of the movie will understand that. At one point, @guthrie ran just a step to far while rolling and I yelled, “OVER THE LINE!”. He looked back at me confused, and I said, “I’m sorry, @guthrie. That was a foul. You were over the line.”. He didn’t get it but I laughed to myself anyways.
@guthrie did great. He decided on bumpers, but I was impressed with his ability to use them to aide in his roll. He would intentionally roll on angles causing the ball to cascade from side to side, similar to air hockey. He even managed to get a strike or two. Also, it was nice to see that I still have it. I used to be pretty good. My dad was an extraordinary bowler and as a kind, I remember him playing with a league as the star of each game. He’d regularly roll 300’s. I wasn’t that good, but whatever genetics one can have for a game like this, I got some of the magic with my 177.
Afterwards, I made my way to @caffetto and met up with @tarotbyfergus. We talked over Star Trek: Picard and Magic: The Gathering Arena. @vermillionfox met us there and they did a tarot reading together while I continued with MTG on my iPad. A new constructed season has begun, so a lot of the Mythic pressure has been alleviated as I’ve started back at Platinum. I enjoyed a miel and started working on more map illustration for @mirrorpool. All in all, a very good day. For now, I’m going to relax and settle my mind before bed. Good night, Hive!

Well it sounds like a grand day out. I've only bowled a few times in my life and it was fun. Pretty impressive to have the Gif WITH the strike, well done, unless you are so good any video footage would be all strikes? lol
I used to be on a league too. It was more of a drinking league, but I ended up being pretty decent at bowling. I still have my ball and shoes somewhere in the garage. I miss it sometimes, but not enough to find another one to join. Oddly enough, our current house is less three miles from the nearest ally but we have never bowled there since living here! I haven't started watching season 2 of Picard yet, but I am gearing up for season 4 of Discovery. I just have to find the time to tackle it.
