[ES] Hola, mi nombre es Mateo Rojas, tengo 18 años, nací y actualmente vivo en Esquel, una pequeña ciudad ubicada al noroeste de la Provincia del Chubut, en Argentina. Es la capital del Departamento de Futaleufú y se caracteriza por sus bellos paisajes montañosos y las lagunas, ríos y lagos que hay a sus alrededores. En su ejido se encuentra el Parque Nacional “Los Alerces”, uno de los lugares más lindos en la Patagonia y un hermoso destino para visitar como turista, y hablando de turismo, no puedo dejar de mencionar al centro de esquí “La Hoya” ubicado a las afueras de la ciudad.
[EN] Hello, my name is Mateo Rojas, I am 18 years old, I was born and currently live in Esquel, a small city located in the northwest of the province of Chubut, Argentina. It is the capital of the Department of Futaleufú and is characterized by its beautiful mountainous landscapes and the lagoons, rivers and lakes that surround it. In Esquel is located Los Alerces National Park, one of the most beautiful places in Patagonia and a beautiful destination to visit as a tourist, and speaking of tourism, I can not fail to mention the ski center "La Hoya" located on the outskirts of the city.
[ES] Soy músico, actualmente integro dos proyectos musicales con los cuales estamos preparando material discográfico para dar a conocer nuestra música. Uno de estos proyectos es la banda que lidero llamada “Desatormentados Blues&Rock” en referencia a un disco de “Pescado Rabioso” (“Desatormentándonos”). El otro proyecto que integro es un trío llamado como sus integrantes (o sus nombres artísticos) “Lauty, Joel y Mateo” aunque el orden suele cambiar. Este trío nace en realidad como dúo, Lauty y Joel eran los integrantes hasta que sintieron un vacío que se podía llenar con una guitarra líder, entonces me llamaron y conformamos el trío con el cual ya grabamos y estamos en proceso de mezcla y masterizacion de un EP que estimo va a ver la luz en unos meses. El contexto mundial de público conocimiento no permitió que tengamos muchas presentaciones con ambos proyectos, lo que no nos quita los ánimos para seguir creando música.
[EN] I am a musician, I currently integrate two musical projects with which we are preparing recordings to make our music known. One of these projects is the band I lead called "Desatormentados Blues&Rock" in reference to an album by "Pescado Rabioso" ("Desatormentándonos"). The other project I integrate is a trio called as its members (or their artistic names) "Lauty, Joel and Mateo" although the order usually changes. This trio is actually born as a duo, Lauty and Joel were the members until they felt a void that could be filled with a lead guitar, then they called me and we formed the trio with which we have already recorded and are in the process of mixing and mastering an EP that I estimate will see the light in a few months. The global context of public knowledge did not allow us to have many presentations with both projects, but that does not discourage us to continue creating music.
[ES] Empecé a deambular por los escenarios cuando tenía 15 años y la banda de mi hermana en “El Bolsón” (Localidad ubicada en la Provincia de Río Negro, aproximadamente a tres horas de Esquel) me invitó a tocar una canción, posteriormente pisé escenarios como locutor en eventos, pero no seguía siendo más que un invitado hasta 2020, año en el que pisé escenarios con mis proyectos.
Además de la música me gustan otras disciplinas artísticas, soy un aficionado del séptimo arte, me gusta ver series y películas al punto de querer dejar una opinión o reseña por algún lugar, además también me gusta la literatura, las artes plásticas, la arquitectura y la escultura, no tengo mucho conocimiento de ninguna, pero son cosas que me fascinan y me gustaría compartirlas con el mundo.
Como dejé en claro las artes me apasionan, pero todo arte forma parte de una cultura, al ser argentino tengo muy implantada la cultura local, mis gustos y preferencias artísticas casi siempre son de artistas argentinos, no porque los otros países me parezcan mediocres, sino por el simple hecho de haber consumido más arte local. Esto tampoco quiere decir que posea una cerrazón y una falta de interés por las culturas aledañas o del mundo en general, es más, me interesan en demasía, es por eso que además de compartir mi cultura me sumo a esta comunidad para recibir información sobre otras, otros países y regiones del mundo.
[EN] I started wandering around the stages when I was 15 years old and my sister's band in "El Bolsón" (a town located in the Province of Río Negro, approximately three hours from Esquel) invited me to play a song, then I stepped on stages as a speaker at events, but I was only invited until 2020, year in which I stepped on stages with my projects.
Besides music I like other artistic disciplines, I am a fan of the seventh art, I like to watch series and movies to the point of wanting to leave an opinion or review somewhere, I also like literature, visual arts, architecture and sculpture, I do not have much knowledge of any of them, but they are things that fascinate me and I would like to share them with the world.
As I made clear I am passionate about the arts, but all art is part of a culture, being Argentinean I have very implanted the local culture, my tastes and artistic preferences are almost always Argentinean artists, not because other countries seem mediocre to me, but by the simple fact of having consumed more local art. This does not mean that I have a closed mind and a lack of interest in the surrounding cultures or the world in general, in fact, I am very interested in them, that is why in addition to sharing my culture I join this community to receive information about other cultures, countries and regions of the world.
[ES] Como lo dice en mi descripción, además del arte también me gustan las humanidades, especialmente la filosofía, la historia, la psicología, la sociología y la antropología entre otras. No soy un erudito en ninguna de estas materias, pero como aficionado me gustaría también dejar constancia y compartir las cosas que me parezcan de interés sobre dichas materias.
La literatura y la poesía son otras de mis grandes pasiones, en mis tiempos libres me gusta pensar historias creativas y plasmarlas en textos, ya sean cuentos o historias breves, también a veces me gusta escribir poesía, que es un buen ejercicio para crear mis canciones que estaré gustoso de compartirles a futuro.
A veces también me gusta dibujar, aunque lo haga de manera pésima, la idea de esos dibujos no es transmitir belleza, más bien transmitir un concepto sin caer en lo abstracto, por lo general mi lado de dibujante sale cuando estoy aburrido en clases. Un profesor una vez me dijo que debería llevarlas al diario local “La Portada” para darlas a conocer, esto sucedió hace dos años y cada lunes a la noche lo recuerdo para después olvidarlo y llevarlos sólo en mi imaginación.
[EN] As it says in my description, besides art I also like humanities, especially philosophy, history, psychology, sociology and anthropology among others. I am not a scholar in any of these subjects, but as an amateur I would also like to record and share the things I find interesting about these subjects.
Literature and poetry are another of my great passions, in my free time I like to think of creative stories and capture them in texts, be it short stories or tales, sometimes I also like to write poetry, which is a good exercise to create my songs that I will gladly share with you in the future.
Sometimes I also like to draw, although I do it in a lousy way, the idea of those drawings is not to convey beauty, but to convey a concept without falling into the abstract, usually my drawing side comes out when I'm bored in class. Once a teacher told me that I should take them to the local newspaper "La Portada" to make them known, this happened two years ago and every Monday night I remember it and then I forget it and I take them only in my imagination.
