Dream Journal: Beach dreams

in #ocd4 years ago (edited)

As of last week, I had two recurring dreams which included a beach/coastline environment. I'm not one to ignore dreams, especially when they recur so close in time. In my opinion, this is an indicator that the heart of the light is trying to tell me (or you) a very important message. I usually ruminate over these ideas and themes for months, and sometimes years.

Please let me know if you feel the same way, or differently, about dreams! In fact, I know of few people who even enjoy sharing their dreams, so if you find yourself stranded in the middle of an ocean of magnificent dreams, do not hesitate to reach out! I love hearing about your dreams no matter how wild or uneventful they are!! ❤️

Saturday morning (16 May), I woke up from a dream that included myself, my partner, our daughter, and my mother. The beach/coast is about a 3+ hour drive and I had won a mini vacation trip through my school.

I'm not a big fan of the beach to begin with--I don't like the stinky smell or the texture of wet sand on my skin. However, since I became pregnant I have had stronger desires to be near, around, or in the water. I was happy to have visited a natural (but with an incredibly rancid smell!) little waterfall pool in the mountains with my partner one time. Now with my daughter around, she's very attracted to water. Hmm...🤔

I arrived at a beach house by myself. While I was awaiting the arrival of the other three, I set up the little place to be more comfortable for us to spend the night in and gazed out onto the horizon. One thing that always amazes me with the beach is even with the waves pushing and pulling, it always looks so flat. How does it do that?!

I was watching the currents in action when my family arrived. It was warm, beautiful and encompassed a great peace. We moved outside to sit on top of a sand hill under the Sun. We enjoyed some conversation, but generally felt bummed out that we couldn't enjoy our time in the daylight much longer.

As the Sun was setting and the Moon was welcomed, my partner suggested that we stretch out the evening and go explore around closer to the shoreline. We gathered ourselves together and followed him down towards the shore. We found ourselves walking along a strange looking fish farm, but it was interesting to discover! I love a little adventure and discovery.

Long Island, NY: Random unknown couple (c. Oct 2014)

Tuesday morning (12 May) I woke up from a dream which included myself, my partner, and our daughter. Yes, I have chosen to write these up backwards, but I think it will make more sense with retracing my dream footprint this way. This one is shorter too, so it will conclude this quick entry.

The three of us arrived at a beach, and what seemed to be on foot! My partner and I had been stressed, exhausted, and troubled. We weren't affectionate upon arrival; as though we had issues lingering around us. We didn't want this negative energy to affect our daughter's enjoyment though, so we kept to ourselves.

Our little Yaretzi is a fierce little spirit and she ran first into the sand and towards the water. We trust her, but we didn't want to lose sight. As I mentioned before, I'm not a fan of the beach, so why are we here? Without a long hesitation, Hector and I looked at each other with forgiveness and reassurance that we're in this together. We removed our shoes and ran through the sand to follow our little Yaretzi. She was already having a lot of fun on the shoreline and we decided to join her in the healing Sun and cleansing water.

Sweet dreams: let's share our thoughts, feelings and interpretations and of course--our most meaningful memories from the Dream World!

Whenever I think of the beach I think of the great, vast unknown of the unconscious mind. I think it is fitting that Yaretzi was leading the way into a new great unknown. In my opinion, it's like the dream is relaying a sobering truth that new tomorrow is full of opportunity and some challenges along the way.

Ultimately, it is the child-like courage that lets us take the leap of faith into challenging uncertainties. Your dream makes me feel optimistic about the future

Yes! I agree about that perspective of the ocean as well. Physically, it's massive and vast. The further into it you go, the more mysterious and amazing it is. There is also a great amount of depth into the ocean, the deeper you go the more void like it becomes, I think. Even the critters that inhabit those regions are a mystery to us all.

As for Yaretzi, it's really cool because she's so new here and she comes from the unknown. That child like sense of adventure and courage comes from somewhere. Perhaps where we have all originated from? I wouldn't want her to get hurt of course which I think is why we would jump to protect her. This world is new but somehow familiar but we need to be reminded by our elders (ancestors, parents, guardians).

Thank you, I am starting to feel more optimistic about the future too! Yaretzi is very strong and already showing to be a trusted leader. Guidance. 😊
