Steemit Local Music Society on Discord is almost ready - We need YOUR help

in #originalmusic7 years ago (edited)

A team of passionate Steemit musicians, producers, and music photographers have been working diligently behind the scenes setting up the Steemit Music Society on Discord to unify musicians and music-related content as a singular community on Steemit across ALL genres.

This is a community effort, so we can't do this without YOU!

Right now, we are looking for moderators for the following channels:

If it has a music wave next to it, we have found a moderator, however, if you want to help in a specific room based on your area of expertise, please let me know, we want this to be a community experience that unifies all Steemian musicians (also music photographers, producers, and podcasters, too)!!

If you are willing to help, responsibilities would include making sure these channels stay free of spam, and that we keep them on topic.

Thank you so much to the following Steemians for being involved with this project through advice or action in its earliest of days (Facebook: Steemit Musicians) and supporting this endeavor to bring us all together in one super-supportive community:

@harrisonmir
@giftedgaia
@soundlegion
@winstonwolfe
@quantumanomaly
@luzcypher
@jasonrussell
@rdollarsign

If you are interested in getting involved, or want more details, please feel free to contact me directly on Discord or in the comments of this post!!

I would love to help in some way. Probably not in the position of moderator plus I'm having internet issues at the moment, but, anything I can do just ask and I'll try. Hopefully my internet woes will be gone by next week.

Awesome. Are you already on Discord?

I thought I had registered last week but I'm not so sure now.

Yes I'm on discord

The pleasure is all mine! Glad to be a part of it. And to the musicians who are interested - I think this is going to be a great opportunity to really streamline the visibility and awareness process on Steemit. It's all about the network - join us! @jessamynorchard has done a great job putting this together.

I'm very hopeful to bring us all together.

Steemit Musicians Unite! Woot! Woot!

Dreaming big...but think it's possible!! Love our community and think we can raise the bar and make our communities and content even stronger. Great for us, and great for the platform. All wins. All around.

I would be more than happy to help.

@isaria What kind of music do you make? Happy to have you!

Thanks, happy to be here! I play piano, guitar, sing and compose. The last project I did, Ruins of Isa, is somewhat dark, emotional, and rock-ish. I studied classical piano and guitar and I teach as well.
What kind of music do you make?

That's awesome, sounds great. Once you're in the Discord you should send me some links! I make mostly electronic/bass music (you can search 'Elpi5'), and I teach music production and modern composition as well! Great to meet you - I think this community is going to be a phenomenal resource for us to network and support each other.

Absolutely, I'm very excited about this community! Let's swap links in Discord!
I've always wanted to learn about music production, to really understand what I'm doing instead of just randomly turning virtual knobs until I find the sound I like lol

Haha hey, turning virtual knobs seemingly at random is how we all learn ;). But yes, I'm more than happy to share what I know. Lots of my Steemit posts wind up being tutorials and instructionals, so if you have anything specific you'd like to address and learn about, feel free to let me know.

Sounds great, I'll follow and definitely check them out! :-)

I have fifteen years experience in live and studio production. I'll join the discord page, and feel free to put my expertise to work in any way that might be beneficial! :)

Outstanding, and I can vouch for your experience and expertise. I need a co-moderator in the music-production room for the Discord page. You down?

For sure! I'd be happy to. Shoot me an invite and any other details that are pertinent. My handle is the same on discord as it is here. Mattie.B-Leaver

Outstanding and incoming.

Gotcha covered and in! Thank you so much for volunteering, and I know your experience and expertise will be well-received and hopefully can grow into a great niche production community!

Happy to see more producers rolling in! Nice to meet you @mattie.b-leaver

I'm so stoked about bringing the current communities together and for all the musical n00bs to have an immediate place to call home! :)

Haha I'm all about that. Artists nowadays have this weird, secretive obligation to keep their music 'protected'.

I'll tell you right now, I could teach you EVERYTHING I know, and you will never produce the same track as myself. The knowledge is important, but it's about the creative mind, experience, and perspective. I live with the mindset, let's build each other up. Anything I know, you're welcome to know, just ask. Musical n00bs are my favorite - there's nowhere to go but up.

Thank you for the notice, support, and share, @screenname! We need all the exposure we can get on this post to get Steemit Musicians together!!

I would like to help as much as I can, but my English is very bad and the translator google does not go very fast, hahaha ...
Of course the initiative is very interesting .... luck

If you make original music, then I hope to see your posts promoted in our community when we launch with wide Discord invites to the server. I hope you follow for updates and such. Really want to get the music community together. Music really is the universal language.

Great, I will follow you
a greeting

As long as you speak the music language, I think we will all get along just fine! :P

At least I try;)
regards

Definitely interested in how I can be involved, I feel I have much to offer in many ways. I can be contacted here or steem chat etc.. cheers!

We would love to have you involved! I will be in touch later on today.

Thank you for the Resteem, by the way. :)

Did you have any specific ways off the top of the noggin that you would be specifically interested in being involved? I know you are a great curator, for starters.

Curating is a start:) I also produce, i'm willing to do what I can I love music and writing and just being creative as a content creator.

Should be good for the music community. Is sent some ppl your way jess!

I might be able to help.

Do you have a particular room you'd be interested in helping with specifically??

Not really. I'm interested in all kinds of art and music, production, promotion, distribution... I can voice chat too. But I'm making food atm. :)

i'd like to help with #hiphop-rap-Musicoriginal. i'm new to steemit tho. how do i get involved?

Hey @mickeymic absolutely dude - we'd love to have you. You can join our Discord channel to network with all of us in one place. You can start by making a Discord account here - discordapp.com - and let me know when you do!

Hey @Jessamynorchard. I really like this community idea you got going on. You wrote to me on steemit.chat a few days ago, but the chat has been bugging out so much the last days i have not been able to connect and get in touch with you there. Would love to help out with the discord channels if you still need any help. Hit me up :) -xtetrahedron

Hey! @jaybird sent me for an invitation to the music room, I'd love to join.

Come on in. We are doing wide release on Friday. Just read the pinned posts in the rooms and make sure if you share, you're sharing Steemit musical content. There's something for everyone!

I added you on discord, but I can't seem to figure out how to find the room. Do you need to send me an invite?
