This water painting is dedicated especially to the women of my Homestead and anyother hardworking woman. Not so long back ago when there wasn't any source of water besides lakes, rivers and wells, These women used to go daily to these resources to fill up their buckets with water for their family.
In some backward rular areas, this paractice is still in continuing. These are some hardworking women, who work alongside their men, for family.
There is also a Poem of Hazrat Ameer Khusro(1253-1325), a South Asian Sufi musician, poet and scholar, dedicated to such hard working women.
بہت کٹھن ہے ڈگر پنگھٹ کی
کیسے میں بھر لاوں مدھوا سے مٹکی
Way of the home is quite difficult
How could I fill up bucket from well
پانی بھرن کو جو میں گئی تھی
دور جھپٹ میری مٹکی پھٹکی
As I went to have some water
On way back my bucket broke
بہت کٹھن ہے ڈگر پنگھٹ کی
مورے اچھے نظام پیا جی
