It was a 5 minute flight and a 20 minute hike. Mike and Chris were above launch so it seemed good!
Tried to get off work early
Jumped in the jeep
Got on the freeway
Gear check
20 minute hike to the top
It was hot
Chris just got back from Europe
Mike is showing us how its done
Everything seemed to be good, two guys above launch
So I pulled my wing up
Launched wit a little foot drag
Wing check
Searching around for a thermal
Couldn't find anything
Sinking more and more
I start laughing right here because I should have hit the bail out, but I wanted to keep flying
No bail out, now I have to side hill land
Game over!
5 minute flight
Its going to take a while to hike up from here.
Today I learned, if the report says its bad, its probably bad...
Even mike had to use the bail out, and his truck was parked at the launch
Mike is a veteran pilot and even he was tricked into flying today...
Nevertheless, everyone had a good flying day. Everyone down safe.

Wow! Petrified of heights myself. Looks like a great deal of fun though! Never did any parachuting, but have done repelling. Always scared the bejesus out of me.
Then again facing my fears head on has always been good therapy.

Sam and I got use to a 30 minute hike followed by a 30 second flight ;)

Still, it's exercise, fresh air & amazing views even if no flying takes place :)
Though, perhaps a little annoying.
Yup, we have that conversation all the time. This hike and fly. hike is the work, fly is the cake and ice-cream.

That Gif at the bottom is crazy. The way the wind sock is blowing and everything I wouldn't have thought the sail would just collapse like that. LOL
That gif btw was me...That day was crazy. I learned my lesson. Don't fly an out of trim glider at stall point.
