Sometimes you think you know yourself … until PeakD proves you wrong. xD The other day, I was taking very first look at statistics here, just out of curiosity. Two colorful pie charts popped up like — boom! The truth hit me in the face.
Apparently, the person I have been voting for the most… is me. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I am my own biggest fan. 😑
I always thought I was trying not to be a narcissist. But the pie chart doesn’t lie. It was clear: “me, me, me”. It was so funny and so embarrassing at the same time that I had to laugh at myself. Until that moment, I didn’t even realize how silly it looked.
Now, to be fair, the platform does give us the option to upvote our own content. So it’s not illegal. But let’s be honest: is it useful, or just a little ridiculous? Looking at the chart, I think the answer is obvious. Since that discovery, I’ve made a new rule: no more self-upvotes (day 3). Nope, no way. I want to see how the circles will change in the future when I vote only for others (cause that only make sence) and not for myself. I know it will take time and quality content to “fix” those proportions, but hey — patience is one of my virtues (together with my obvious narcissism, haha 😅).
And because I’m a very visual type of person, charts like these really work for me. I actually enjoy seeing things drawn and colored instead of just written. That’s why the next chart made me really happy:
If you’ve read my earlier posts, you probably noticed I am not too generous with words. English is not my perfect language (yet!), so I usually spend a lot of time first thinking in Serbian and then translating. Sometimes Google Translate helps, but that’s fine — that’s what it’s for, right? It makes communication easier and lets us connect across borders.
Meanwhile, I’m slowly improving my English, even if Turkish and German from my Duolingo app sometimes sneak in and confuse me. Imagine me trying to write a blog and suddenly thinking of a word in Turkish — chaos! Hihi.
Anyway, the important thing is: I’m learning, I’m growing, and so is my channel. These charts are proof of that.
So here’s my little advice to fellow PeakD users:
Don’t fall into the narcissist trap like I did — your pie chart will betray you!
Enjoy the colorful stats, because they show your journey in a way words can’t.
And most of all, don’t take yourself too seriously. If you can laugh at yourself, the blockchain becomes a much friendlier place.
From now on, I’ll be a reformed narcissist — or at least I’ll try. Wish me luck!
btw, If you ever see me voting for myself again, please send me a pie chart intervention. And one friendly small virtual slap.
And thank you all for reading! ❤️
Hahaha! 😂
