Pet Blacktip Sharks for Billionaires? People are HUNGRY you assholes!

in #pets6 years ago (edited)

How much money is enough money? There is most certainly a huge difference between having say 10 million dollars and having multiple billions of dollars. Most everyone in this world will never know the feeling of even having 1 million dollars in the “bank”. I am always perplexed at how little billionaires even care about the rest of humanity but instead are wrapped up so tight in their little circles and must out do their friends.

The new thing apparently between Hollywood film actors is to have actual live sharks swimming in their home fish tanks. The shark is a symbol of power so having one as a pet in your home that you hand feed puts you securely at the top of the food chain I guess. Reports coming from top salt water fish tank builders say that celebrity actors are spending literally millions of dollars to have these fish tanks and they include some of the biggest names in the world such as Bill Gates. Now Mr. Gates claims to be a “philanthropy” driven person and I’m sure a large portion of his loot goes to good causes or what at least may look like “good cause charity” but, below is a picture of his multi million dollar fish tank in his house.

I’m not gonna start hating on a man for being smart and making a lot of money because of the great moves he has made in life to get that rich because I believe in capitalism 100%. There is a point where I wonder hw can you get that much pleasure out of a fish tank when the money could be used to do so much good for other humans who are really on the struggle!

I guess it turns out that sharks make horrible home pets unless they are the very small size variety and it’s almost impossible to have other fish of any sort in the tank with them. Even well fed sharks (about 2k per month) will attack other fish in the tank during a feeding frenzy.

The price for “things” in a rich persons world has gotten to mind boggling numbers, especially in Hollywood or anywhere in LA for that matter. Look at this property in the Hollywood Hills that was just listed yesterday. It is a private secluded lot that used to be a wine vineyard but has recently been re-zoned for sale as a private residence lot to build a house on. How much? Hold onto your wallet because this little circle of dirt has just been listed at 1 Billion dollars! What....what? You mean I don’t even get a house for that much money, it’s just the dirt?

I can remember as a kid watching Robin Leach on the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and his show and tell program of champagne wishes and caviar dreams. I never saw a billion dollar lot or a shark tank in the house so I guess he really only interviewed the poor people in the rich category. The income disparity between the super rich and the barley alive humans all breathing the same air seems to have gotten worse.

These billionaires better hope our moderately civil society stays together because when the masses actually go hungry, there are gonna break into your compounds and feed you to your own captive sharks you stole from the ocean and pet tigers you stole from the jungle. Calling someone rich is a very relative term because some could even look at my own Steemit wallet and think I’m rich. I don’t feel rich, I live in a 900sf condo, drive a 2006 truck and have enough emergency funds only to last a year or so. I’m not saying that if bitcoin hits 1M each that I won’t own a nice car and probably a couple other small properties but, I can assure you that I would rather give my money away before I build a million dollar fish tank and feed sharks all day costing another 2k. Somewhere along the line a man must admit he has enough and that’s the world would be a better place if he didn’t waste his money but, rather spend it helping fulfill the basic needs of others.

Sort:

Is that picture real? Well if it is, than it is really showing off. Why on earth would you need it

I'm with you on the fact that all that money could do so much good for many needy people in the world. I think it's funny when these super rich assholes throw a charity fund raiser or or set up a donations thing a ma floogie when they could have just taken care of it. Why not start a substantial amount in an ETF that grows and provides every year for their cause? They could do that but they don't. It's not about helping when they do it's about who's attention they can get. Oh well, whatever, in the end they don't know how to change a light bulb much less what it will take to be social with the rest of us. Hope they don't have one to many, slip and fall in that fish tank or mistake it for the hot tub ;)

understandable emotion aside, are we sure that we really understand hunger and malnutrition, or what is known as food insecurity? What are the factors behind the numbers rising? Is it due to climate change, with more droughts happening? Is it over population? Is it degradation of the planet leading to desertification, pollution and deforestation? Or does violence play the biggest role?

Very interesting topic.Willing of money is infinite But money is as important as fuel in the car..great post and good article thanks for shere.

keep it up

People living in poverty can't afford nutritious food for themselves and their families. This makes them weaker, physically and mentally, so they are less able to earn the money that would help them escape poverty and hunger. The effects can be long-lasting. Children who are chronically malnourished, or ‘stunted’, often grow upto be adults whose incomes are lower. They are condemned to a life of poverty and hunger.

People need to invest in some good seeds and grow their own. Stop depending on others. That's where their power comes from. First and foremost learn what food is and is not.

wealth and money do make people addicted

Thank you friends thank you a lot so much so that every new post is so beautiful for you to share a new post and comment on every post and respect you and learn something new from you.

What you learn from this post?

Trough the world is producing more food then ever , hundreds of million people still go hungry drought war people farming practices....corruption and higher demand food for both food supply..,food shortages government and N Gos are doing what they can to bring aid, but there is still much work to be done...!!!

Hungry people suffer however their situation is labelled. Unfortunately, politicians are more likely to act in the case of a famine, where people are dying of starvation, than for the hunger that accompanies long-term food insecurity. This is because famine reaches the headlines, whereas hunger and chronic under-nutrition are below the media’s radar. But arguably the distinction is artificial and unhelpful.

If a Person has enough money to live on this island that's enough Not Brilliant But famous People said health is wealth

Words to live by god damn man, you got your self a new follower, I enjoyed reading what you had in your mind, now if only 90% of the people took some of your words and lived by them.

Keep it up man.

I guess there is no end to the hunger for wealth. Everyone in the world irrespective of the wealth wants to make more and more money and the same goes for a jobless person like me .

pots that attract friends. i like to read it

Very interesting topic..... Willing of money is infinite ... But money is as important as fuel in the car..

You make some great points here! Its a paradox, the billionaires who waste their money on ridiculous extravaganzas are truly worthless humans!

Iam read and realy enjoy this blog..thanks sir
for share your inportant concept..

I think people with money are only interested in their own well-being within their group of friends with money, that is to say that while that status is maintained well for them the rest does not matter because basically only live on appearances as making competitions to see who Spend more on absurd and unnecessary things

Unfortunately not everyone was conditioned for charity in life.

Those billionaires often act as ordinary spoiled brats, who don't care about anybody but themselves.

Great article such an eyeopener for sure this need to be read by everyone on steemit

Regarding the 1 billion dollar piece of dirt, i think someone would buy it to build a couple of houses, i think that piece of land is enough for a couple of 200 million houses, but i can't really tell because it's a photograph.

Regarding the sharks, I would totally spend that money on building a shark tank inside my house if I got $33.3 million per day like bill gates does and I had already given out soo much! Bill has given so much money to charity, and HIV research, that a shark tank is probably 1/1000 of the total money he has given to charity, maybe even less! Yes, we all want to help each other, but if we can't spend the money on buying things that we want sometimes how do you expect him to be happy?! He is not a saint, if he didn't rip the rewards out of his own hard work he would probably go mad...It's not like he has a 1 billion dollar whale tank! Having a Shark tank may cost millions, but he probably makes enough each day to feed the sharks for months and he only bought the tank once! Does he need a shark tank to be happy? Probably not... but if the man likes his sharks...

And poverty and famine in most countries is a result of shitty corrupt governments...

Regarding the Hollywood famous people that, unlike bill gates, haven't given anything to the world and never helped anyone I agree with you, it's one thing to indulge in absurd things once in a while, it's a totally different thing to indulge every day without taking care of humanity!

So, in my opinion, if you have money then there should be a direct relationship between how much you give out to help the world and how much you spend on your own greed.

BTW I think this should put things in perspective:

Bill and Melinda Gates give 95% of wealth to charity. Bill and Melinda Gates are one of the richest couples in the world but they've pledged to give away 95% of their fortune - so far £17 billion has gone to their charitable foundation which helps health projects across the globe

This was back in 2010, imagine how much they have given now in 2018... all-in-all, what is a couple of million dollar shark tank in the face of billions of dollars given out to charity?

Now if you are talking about animal rights and animal protection, yes, I do agree that these sharks should be out in the ocean, but first, we should tackle problems like the ocean's pollution which ends up killing sharks, whales, dolphins, etc...

I can't myself thinking sometimes what I would do with all those millions and billions of dollars. I would like to think that I would try to help people out in some way but I also can't hate on someone for spending their coin however they want. Even if I think it is ridiculous. This whole fish tank with sharks thing... RIDICULOUS but oh well, you get the cash then make the splash. Who am I to judge. What makes me sad is the amount of money that is paid to these people to begin with. The value of their services can outweigh the GDP of some entire small countries. Can't blame them for taking the money.
