@suisver I request you to edit your comment & remove that footer.
@acidyo any new comments won't have such footer.-----

They can use the footer, it's the way you promote it that's not cool in my opinion.

It'd be the same for any other dapp out there, for instance if splinterlands or holozing made footers of their referral links and then just upvoted anyone and everyone rather than using the promoted feature that burns rewards or it costing them something to promote like delegations.

Dunno, it's a bit gray area I guess as I wouldn't wanna take away usecases of having HP, but maybe it can be done better.

Yes. Next time, I will share ideas before implementing it. It would be great to discuss before implementing & executing it.-----

appreciate it, i don't mean to sound too harsh, was just the first thing I noticed after waking up and then saw all the other comments that had been upvoted the same way

i'm sure you understand what I mean by gray area that maybe the community may not agree with

Apologies!

We're not funded for apps we've built but we still want to promote our apps.

We're yet experimenting & I understand that approach wasn't best for bringing more community members to try our apps.

I think adding single link for all of our apps - linktree link

Hope that we can settle on linktree link - single small link as a footer.
Let me know your thoughts-----

Sure, I don't have a problem with the footer itself, the problem is these upvotes on all comments using the footer. It comes off like you're incentivizing them to engage just to get upvotes and just to get the footer to the top of comments on posts for attention.

I think you're doing some manual curation from what I could see, it's just that this "marketing tool" comes off a bit weird in terms of proof of brain.

I don't really know community etiquette when it comes to this as it's probably quite unique and new, I just think people should wanna promote projects/tools because they want to and not just because they're getting paid in upvotes to do so.

Footer issue has been addressed. It'll be just one small link now onwards.

For Depth 0 (post) and Depth 1 (comment on a post / snap-thread-wave-moment), we manually curate & drop comments.
Curation is all manual & engaging. Curators - they decide whom to upvote & how much to upvote - using our hive power & they decide what comment to drop.

For any lower depth (comments on comments), we consider them as an app usage.
We motivate them to use our apps & up-to 15 comments using any app - hSnaps, hReplier - we motivate them by a small upvote.

We also have a flagged authors inside hcurators app so that anyone misusing apps/voting-power, once banned, can't continue doing same.

Hope that clarifies. Happy to discuss more & to be in alignment.

I am all ears & eyes wide open. Improvements, feedback, suggestions, everything is welcome & shape it in such a way that we can thrive on hive.

Have a good day.
