Because the trending/viral Facebook post has mysteriously disappeared let me post it here on the blockchain.

DYNAMITE EXPLOSION IN KALIWA DAM, RIZAL

The construction of this China-funded megadam will threaten one of the most diverse areas in the country, the Sierra Madre mountain range, w/c is also the largest remaining tract of rainforest in the Philippines.

(for those who don't know, this person seems to be working at Dept. of Agriculture, and the photos Kathrino takes including the above one have been commonly used in various government posts.)

Now for those who wants to verify if this did happen then it's up to you to do the research.

Ah humanity.

Japan made vs. China made dam in the Philippines

Please do your research on this bothersome issue. Kaliwa Dam is a China funded/loaned project that will negatively affect indigenous people and their ancestral lands! We Filipinos should show some respect to the indigenous Filipinos! My gosh how can we be so... Ugh!!!

If the dam project was granted to Japan this problem wouldn't have been an issue plus the loan wouldn't even be as big as P12.2M!

There are two online petitions against Kaliwa Dam but I don't even know if there's a new one or what has happened to it. Seems like online petitions aren't as effective because the construction is still ongoing!!!

Sustainability should be the key but the government are being run by old people who do not know and have no care about such things despite the climate change and food crisis happening worldwide.

What do you think about this issue?
