Anawangin Cove is a small sea inlet situated at the foot of coastal mountains in the province of Zambales.
It is approximately 108 miles away from Mount Pinatubo. It was the active volcano's infamous eruption in 1991 that, however disastrous, made Anawangin the gem that it is today.
"Behind every exquisite thing that existed, there was something tragic." ~Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray
The mixture of white sand and volcanic ash adds a unique character to the cove's crescent-shaped shoreline.
Lush Pine-like Agoho trees, once seeds that came along with the ashfall, offer a green scenery along the seabank.
Jagged mountains of rocks, created by years of constant volcanic activity, accentuate the calm and pristine water.
West- facing, it offers a great view of the sundown!
With a verdant mountain range in the backdrop, the Anawangin Cove is a sight to behold!
More of Anawangin Cove plus the Islands of Capones and Camara in my next post.
