Why am I talking about mental health when I'm actually posting photos that I took when I was away from my work? Well it is because recently our company is asking for a survey on each employee regarding our mental health. I thought it is really important especially when we are dealing with the same stressful job every day. Contemplating on the photos that I took way back May I come to think of me as a lucky person that I still have time to unwind and relax my mind almost every day-offs.
I watched a vlog on Youtube sharing interesting topics about Japan, its people, history, and culture and was astonished about the suicide rate of young men and women in that country, that doesn't includes other ages. Most of the reasons of those suicide are bullying and depression wherein they tend to feel that they don't belong or not achieving the expectations of either their family or work. So, we can tell that it is more on how people think about them being in a group centered type of culture. Here is the link Let's ask Shogo you can also watch his other videos. I'm posting this photos as continuation of my post last time and the last set of photos that I took from my phone. But this time I'm actually trying to emphasized that everyone should have their own initiative to take care of our mental health. I've read that more or less 3.6M Filipinos are also suffering from this issue and that data came from WHO for Philippines. Sorry, I forgot where I read about it but it's somewhere in the internet. I will put it in the comments section if I found it again.
Most of the mental health issues here in the Philippines also pointing out to adjustment disorders wherein same as Japan the feeling that you are not belong in a certain society or didn't met the expectations of your family. Other cases is from those what we usually watched on television(rape, child abuse, etc.). There is a very little bullying cases since we all know Filipinos are born know how to fight type of people.
How I deal with it in my stressful job as a BPO employee?
- I always make sure that everything will be left out in the office once I step out of it.
- I always have time to unwind or going to places.
- I never find an excuse not to laugh.
- Sports can also be an outlet.
- A one can of beer with your best friend is not bad sometimes.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:6-7
