RE: Central Ideas in the Stonewall Era of Gay & Lesbian Liberation, Urvashi Vaid PRINCIPLE #2

Thank you for taking the time to read and to comment on my article. I, as an ordained non denominational minister, must follow my calling to be loving and accepting of ALL of god's people, inclusive of all. You left out the part that says "if it harm none" do as you will, which can be found in many different religions. The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrha was a result of myriad sins. In Jesus' day there was no word for homosexuality. In fact pederasty was a common practice, was socially acceptable. I know many homosexual people and families and they hurt no one; all are highly successful in public and private lives. I have read the bible from cover to cover many times through out my public and private life. And will continue to read it. Next time you read yours please remember the times in which it was written. Consider the socio-political climate of the time; how people lived, what was and was not socially, politically and spiritually acceptable. Jesus was Jewish not christian so perhaps add some jewish texts, such as Maimonides. Read the Apocrypha and the Gnostic Gospels should you want to know who Jesus really was and what he really wants from us. Love your enemy as yourself.
