Stonewall, in the "Stonewall Era", refers to the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village New York.

On June 27, 1969, police raided the Stonewall Inn where it was the first time gays and lesbians had fought back against the police harassment of the time. By fighting back, and with the support of the stonewall Inn neighborhood, things began to change. Urvashi Vaid demonstrates the psychological process in his four central ideas of the Stonewall Era.

"We need to accept them as they are NOT as we think they should be. We need to insure that we all have the freedom to live our lives as we see fit. If it harm none, do as you will. Let LOVE will out!"

Do as you will, would that be the Aleister Crowley qoute the illuminist pedophile devil worshiper or the Wiccan Rede statement. That whole mindset is deception that goes against the truth of God and teaching of the Lord Jesus the Christ.God has already made a example of those that choose to rebel in sexual perversion in overthrowing the cities of the plain Sodom and Gomorrah as a witness unto the world of the future of that decadence.Jesus taught that men and women must repent of sin homosexuality and other perversion is not the only sin of course yet it is sin Jesus came to reconcile people to God by teaching them to follow him and purchasing redemption for all through his own blood and substitutional death upon the cross I believe you are in error in teaching support for a lifestyle that hurts people and can harm their future perhaps you should consider reading the bible the revealed will of God specifically the New Testament that applies to all people of the world at this time that you may gain knowledge of what is truth and how people ought to live and help others

Thank you for taking the time to read and to comment on my article. I, as an ordained non denominational minister, must follow my calling to be loving and accepting of ALL of god's people, inclusive of all. You left out the part that says "if it harm none" do as you will, which can be found in many different religions. The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrha was a result of myriad sins. In Jesus' day there was no word for homosexuality. In fact pederasty was a common practice, was socially acceptable. I know many homosexual people and families and they hurt no one; all are highly successful in public and private lives. I have read the bible from cover to cover many times through out my public and private life. And will continue to read it. Next time you read yours please remember the times in which it was written. Consider the socio-political climate of the time; how people lived, what was and was not socially, politically and spiritually acceptable. Jesus was Jewish not christian so perhaps add some jewish texts, such as Maimonides. Read the Apocrypha and the Gnostic Gospels should you want to know who Jesus really was and what he really wants from us. Love your enemy as yourself.
