After some practice

"While contemplating the objects of the senses, a person develops attachment for them, and from such attachment lust develops, and from lust anger arises." Bhagavad Gita As It is 2.62

Pretty easy to understand how thinking something gives rise to wanting to enjoy it. When that desire in creases it turns into lust which is very difficult to curtail. It is like a fire. It is can never be fully satisfied. Like a fire the more it is fueled the brighter and hotter it burns. Not being able to satisfy the burning produces frustration and anger.

It is a progression. When we understand how it works we can catch it at the contemplating stage. After some practicing we are able to recognize the progression at the very first beginnings and can say, "Been there. Done that. Thank you. But no thank you." Eventually there isn't even any temptation.

It can take a while for some of us to get it. Some pain and embarrassment. But eventually we can put two and two together. Put my hand in the fire. It gets burnt.
