In the center is Anthony Levandowski, a former Google engineer.
Mr. Levandowski is a co-founder of the automatic driving truck company Otto, which Otto was acquired by Uber in 2016. Google stole the confidential information at the time of enrolling in Google and used it for the development of automatic driving truck at Otto, it became a big topic in the industry appealing to Google.
According to wired coverage has made it clear that Mr. Levandowski founded a religious organization called " Way of the Future ". The mission of the group is as follows.
To promote and develop the realization of Godhead based on artificial intelligence (AI), and contribute to better society through understanding and worship of Godhead.
Although it is an abstract expression, is it to realize the divine existence of Godhead by making use of artificial intelligence?
The emergence of artificial intelligence is a lot of entrepreneurs and scientists warned, On the other hand, people who are caught optimistic as a technology to better the society and there are many. I do not know how to compromise with existing religion but engineers who agree Levandowski's idea to worship AI as the ultimate existence to improve society may be found in Silicon Valley more or not.
A sensational news that former Google engineer founded a religion worshiping AI as a god is jumping to many overseas media. The British Guardian newspaper said, "New technology and scientific discovery has always transformed religion, killing the old gods and creating new gods. According to The Verge 's report, Way of the Future has not yet filed an application for tax exemption as a religious organization.
Way of the Future also does not have full-fledged activities yet on the surface, but it seems that there was no doubt that it was established with some purpose.

This is something worth following. I wonder what approach Mr. Levandowski will use. I could see it doing a lot of good, or a lot of bad in the world. I suppose the outcome depends on the sincerity (or lack thereof) of the developers' intents.
