people are like stained glass windows
they sparkle and shine when the sun is out
but when the darkness sets in
their true beauty is revealed
only if there is a light from within

very good
Glad you like them.
You are right, nice post
Beautiful post! I'm always amazed how you manage to find just a perfect quote for your beautiful photos. Do you have a collection of quotes, or do you search for them after you make photos?
I have a collection of quotes in a file that I use sometimes but I usually find quotes when I decide what story I am going to tell with my photos. That's how I do it. Magic eh?
Indeed it is... You find just a perfect for each photo. 😊
Beautiful second shot ! Its amazing how gold the hay shines through the black fence, it looks great with the wooden wall behind it.
Do you know where Mount Nemo Conservation is? Just north of Burlington? That's where this is - a house on the Sotheby's auction for $2.5 million on 10 acres of amazing land. Want to buy it? lol.
p.s. love quote you put at the beginning of post..so trueHow unusual place for this kind of window..What kind of building is this @countrygirl, do you know?
The building is part of an estate we visited in the country - so gorgeous. I'm not sure it's used as a barn but it was huge. To the left of that yellow grass was a large pool area and a couple of cabanas. The main house is amazing too. I took a few shots of that but they weren't that great. The property sits on 10 acres and the price....ready for it? $2.5 million. No thanks.
Hahaha, well that 2.5 justifies stained glass on barn :)
This is a beauty! I love stained glass :)
me too! Love how the sun light colors through them.
I was surprised to see it as part of a wood house.
What a great art painting on glass... The colors of the picture is classy... I like it my friend and have a nice day.... :)
I wish I could take the credit for the design and art. Nope. :) I just happened to notice this beautiful window while visiting a property and had to make a photo. Hope your day is nice too!
stained glass is my fave of faves lol. I actually have a piece standing that the sun hits just for the ambience. very beautiful photo
Thanks @briancourteau. I love stained glass too.
That is a beautiful stained glass...what type of building is it in? I love "their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within"...this is so true.
I think the building is a workshop maybe. I'm not entirely sure. We visited this estate while out on a drive and noticed it was for sale and no one was around ... so we snooped. Beautiful 10 acres historical property. The second photo shows the size of the building and it's was way too nice to be a barn.
I love this window too.
Someone had fun with that window! I wonder what kind of bird that is. Not a raven, but I thought of Poe anyway! I'm not sure what the middle pane depicts.
I think the bird is a hawk. I think the middle pane is a pond of water. Open up the photo in another tab to see it big big. I'd like to know who the artist is. I really love the different kinds of glass that went into the design.
I did open it to see. It's very intricate, especially the flowers at the bottom. I like the second shot, too. It looks like a pretty overcast day, though.
It was raining misty rain. I was worried about my camera but didn't stay there too long.

I found something cool.....I was so happy, I even thot of you and your great collection of cool stuff!
That is lovely! Great photos, and the perfect quote!
Glad you like it :) Stained glass is always pretty. I can imagine what it looks like on the inside!
oh .. perfect. this is your best photo!
what a nice angle and a perfect window. congratulations my dear friend.
I appreciate you. You're a real artist!
Ceren!! What a nice compliment, thank you so much :)
This is so beautiful, the poem fits it perfectly!
This property would have made a beautiful setting for your rustic brides. I took some photos of the house but they are just meh. Hate it when that happens. But the land, trees, 10 acres of it and well, lots of great space.
Wwww yes that does sound like somewhere I would love to go shooting!
It is the light from within that I am drawn to every time. What a remarkable quote, spoken from one with great insight. Sharing this lovely post @countrygirl 🌻
Thank you so much @trudeehunter. I'm glad you like the quote too.
It would be cool to do a long exposure at night and hit the glass with a flashlight for a second to get it to light up.
hmmmm....it would be!! Maybe during another overcast day....it's not my property and I could get in trouble for trespassing - which would make an interesting photo :)
What a great stained glass window. Is that an Eagle? or perhaps a Hawk?
I think it's an eagle @keithboone.
Hi Country Girl! What's inside that building? Is it a barn? I love when people add character in surprising places!
I looked at the MLS listing to see if it said and all they wrote was that it was 10,000 sq feet and had a kitchen and partially finished area - used as a party place....can you imagine knowing that many people to need a space that big?? lol. The property was huge. 10 acres. I might go back to sneak a peak inside the barn. The inside of the house is gorgEous!!!
Great Quote & Photos!
Steem on :)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
Good eyes to see that splash of color!
You know how things just pop out at you? I was so excited to see it against such a bleak background. My new eyes work great!
