PhotoFeed is a project spear-headed by @jrue, @aweber, @yumyumseth and me that aims to improve the experience of those who want to see beautiful professional photography on steemit.com
We've been running the photofeed project for about a month now and here is a little project update to tell you where we are at this point in time in the development of a community for high-quality photography on the steem blockchain.

We run a curation trail (backed by my upvote at 10% after 30minutes), a daily and weekly round-up post backed by my 100% upvote after 30minutes as well as 5 resteem per day backed by 30% of my upvotes. I'm amazed about how much SBD has been allocated to this tag in only a month! We are not quite up there in the top 10 but with dedicated effort and more photographers getting onboard, more people following our curation trail, I'm sure we will be able to it a better experience for people who enjoy beautiful photography.

Like dmania.lol project does, isn't it better to launch a web site for this photofeed project? I think it might help and while we uploading the photography the system can check whether quality of the photography as well.

Holy mother of payouts!!! 70 friggin' thousand SBD in about a month has been paid out!!! This is ridiculously awesome!! Just goes on to show we have some great photographers here on steemit!! This might just become a real big thing as more photographers outside the crypto universe finds out about this!!
I'm no photographer, but I have enjoyed your blog for a very long time which is why when i found out about this initiative you took, I have been trying to spread the word out to as many photographers as I could here on steemit. Might start doing this to outsiders too!! Great to see this tag grow!!

Honestly, just keep doing what you're doing. I have a friend who has signed up for Steemit and hasn't posted yet, but I think with the continued success of this feed, the more likely he will be to start posting and contributing some of his awesome photography. Keep up the great work of making the "photography" feed great again.
Oh yes, the #photofeed is an excellent opportunity for people who are engaged in quality photography! The fact that there are many participants and statistics on the project is constantly growing, speaks of the growing popularity and demand among the admirers of photography, this of course merit you personally and your team! I am not much good at photography but get to see so much of nice pictures under this tag, that's a wonderful effort to encourage the photography. Nowadays I started taking pictures where ever in think the nature is at its peak or anything that touches my heart and makes me happy.
Keep the great photos coming. @photofeed always get my vote.

Nice, I occasionally stumble upon great photography, but until now, I've had to rely on photo contests to find consistently high quality photos. I appreciate the effort put into @photofeed and hope that it will continue to evolve in the positive way we have seen until now. As for how to expand the community, I believe resteems and shoutouts are still king.

Not to mention all the professional photographs produced by this new tag. When looking at the quality of those photos, we can't imagine how important this project was. That is to credit those talented photographers that produced top quality photos with super composition. Kudos to you and the team @jrue, @aweber, @yumyumseth for making the project really shine among others.

Photography is one of the most popular tags on here so it is not surprising the results you are having. It is always a genre that is tailor-made for the blockchain.
Photographers are the epitome of content creators yet had a very tough time monetizing their work. Many had to do things such as shooting weddings and such to earn a living. Just snapping a few high quality photos netted very little. Once in a while some payment would come in off a site that business used for marketing purposes, but that was rare.
It is terrific that you are getting more exposure for these people and rewarding them for great content.

@photofeed I love it because it makes my hojos meet places ingeibles in photographs, I would like to implement a basic course of photography in the future and so better in our shots of every single moment where we find.
I'm excited to see how the project has gone in just a short time, with this amount of cash out, I must tell photographers are having a nice time on the steemit blockchain.
I think many more people need to join the trailer even if the voting weight is set at a low percentage, the collective upvote will mean more to the photographers and community at large.
Does the pictures need to be taken with a camera or does a smartphone works fine?
Great job @cryptoctopus a lot of photographers have earned their deserved payout due to this initiative and lots of quality photographs have been highlighted.
I had cut out all my curation trails due to issues with using too much SP. I might should pick this one back up though. Looks like I could rake in some serious SP if I manage vote strength properly. It may be easier now that I have more SP delegated to me and can divide my votes smaller without hitting the "vote dust" threshold.
Photography was always a joy, and this makes me want to get back in to photography again, but I don't even have a camera anymore. (old slr takes film, not digital) Some day.
That's a good idea. First we had dlive, dtube and dsound and now photofeed, i am sure these kind of steps will boost the motivation of all the steemit users and encourage new members to join Steemit.

i think you should make some contest in photo graphy tag and have a big weekly or monthly prize to 1st 2nd winners who participate with thier best photos ,,sure this thing will attract more photographers in this tag

Wow, how come I never knew about this tag and my picture contents have been going to waste . It's great that I know this now, atleast I now know the tag to use when I created photography contents on steenit.
