The Hedgehog Cactus does a good job of protecting itself along with it's extremely vibrant and attractive flowers. These cactus are found scattered about in Sedona and the many deserts of Arizona, blooming from Spring into Summer. They are beautiful to see, but don't touch!

Nice shot. Those are some pretty flowers. I think I may have accidentally stepped on a few in my journeys over the years, they blend in pretty well sometimes and sometimes the other bushes and plants are deep and it's hard to see your feet. There's a lot of unwelcoming/hostile plants and animals around here! It sure is a beautiful and fascinating place though!
Spring is just around the corner, two more months until the clover. But the cactus flowers are always welcome and nice to see.
