Some remnants of a lava rock cap are visible here against the evening sky. The softer underlying sedimentary rock is protected from erosion until the hard rock cap disappears, then erosion occurs much faster. Time marches on with this rocky moon rise.
This image was shot on 4-17-2019, south of Sedona Arizona USA.
I've already seen this image as well but going to leave a comment anyways.
I like what leaky20 said, it's a very peaceful image! Has a very sort of serene feeling to it. It's also neat how the moon kind of lines up with the crack or slice in the middle. Adds a geometric element. Cool shot!
That crack was the only interesting feature I could find on short notice. But it worked fine. Hey!
Great photo @irvinesimages and this moon looks amazing against the backdrop of mountain scenery!
Sometimes simple scenery works just fine. Thanks!
That's a really cool picture with the shape of the horizon and the lone moon in the sky. It's a very peaceful image.

This shot was totally spontaneous. Once I saw it I didn't have much time to find a spot to shoot it. This place was very peaceful, quiet and mostly deserted. Thanks!
very very nice photo my dear friend great work
Thanks for looking my friend and have a good day.
The moon looks small but it is a lot.
I wanted it bigger but couldn't manage. Thanks.
Such a beautiful moonrise scenery on the rock. I appreciate your photographic magic.
