PV's Log #127 - Working on "portfolio" calendar 2022...

in #photofeed3 years ago

Hi Guys!

Just wanted to say I am currently working on my 2022 portfolio calendar with large, panoramic images in 16:9 format.

Calendar, same as first one, the vertical one, will be in a large A3 format, with 13 leaves printed on a high quality, thick paper.

For the first time I will have to print the calendars in Poland - my previous printing company that I was working with is still doing fine, but since the "Brexit" took place I will have to pay extra duty fee. Extra 20% for production cost will eat a lot of my income, so I decided to search for a new printer in Poland.

I hope the quality will be as good as the previous ones!

First stage - choosing the shots for each month is done - next step is to design each page as I am going to do the calendarium by my own - very minimalistic but easy to operate and read.

I hope I will finish it this week and will be available to pre-order very soon.

Below - few shots which I had to DELETE from my first selection...

Have a good day!

Thank You! Quality is everything in such a large prints - I will have to order some proofs first to be totally sure I can deliver the product I like...

Such choices is always hard, in my first pick I had almost 30 photos to choose from, choosing only 13 out of them took me a while and some consultations ;).

Hope the final pick will match each other as well as the months they will represent.

Cheers!

Proof checking before print needs an extremely critical eye, sometimes a few extra eyes from printer helps knowing how print machine will eventually reveal final product.

Selection through seasons a nice touch, good luck for grand final production! Almost time for printers to run, end of year almost upon us once again.

wow ... I like this nature photos... they are very strong :)
I hope we see more your nature posts here soon :)

Thanks a lot! More to go for sure... trying to post daily something from my photographic world :).

Cool 🤗👌👌🍷

These are amazing. I love the foggy one of the house near the lake.

I like this one too but finally decide to remove it from my Calendar, I think it is too "soft and gentle" and won't look good on the white pages of the calendar... Always hard to choose such small set from a big archives.
Thanks for the comment!

I think that would be a perfect September or October picture to represent the season changing. But it is your artistic vision for this. Whatever you choose, I am sure it will be awesome. Are you going to sell prints of the calendar? I may be interested in getting one.

Sure thing! I am going to run the pre-sale very soon, hopefully this week after I finish the project and set up the offer on my web.
I will have to check all the shipping costs to Europe and USA to configure all the details.
I will think about the shot but really don't know how the printers handle such soft details and gentle colors :). We will see...

These are amazing. The last one is my jam

The editing and photography work is incredible, Good job ✌️

Thanks a lot, trying my best, great to know You liked them!

Good one

Thank You :D

Are you making use of a direct image printing for the work?

Not really know what You mean by direct printing for the work - I am trying to make a use of my photography - every image is always available to buy as prints or digital files, every Year I am also making a calendar with my favorite shots... I hope I answered Your question :).

Okay the question is answered, now I understand better
