Mustang District - Annapurna Conservation Area, Nepal.
Out of all the stretches I’ve ridden in Himalayas, this was the most challenging. Mainly because it is one half of a hiking trail, a very famous one, the Annapurna Circuit Trek. Just stones rocks dirt and riverbed riding for days. This trail follows the Kaligandaki river through pristine alpine forests all the up to barren high altitude trans-himalayan landscapes, not too dissimilar to Ladakh. But the increase in altitude is gradual and there are no mountain passes in between, which makes it one of a kind! Why take a sport-tyred stiff suspension bike here? Well I had to put 9 days of black-top riding to reach this place and there’s true enjoyment in attacking a corner with a fast machine and throttling out in glory🙌🏽🏍🙌🏽In photos, my KTM 390, Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges and village of Kagbeni.
