Limasawa Island is another island in the Philippines that is proud of its marine sanctuary.

It was fortunate to have received some help from the German government to help manage and protect its marine environment. The watchtower was built overlooking the marine sanctuary to make sure no illegal fishing was occurring and acts as base for the guards during the night.

Limasawa Island is only small, but it is not easy to access the marine sanctuary as it is on the more remote, inaccessible side of the island. Divers come from all over Sogod Bay to dive its majestic coral reefs and pay a fee to dive in its marine protected areas.
