A lazy Sunday with a bit of Bouldering at Rokt

in #photography6 years ago

The big tower above is an old flour mill, a few years back it was converted after being derelict for some time into an indoor climbing centre called Rokt. There are free climb bouldering rooms and also roped climbs up the big towers - although you need to book an instructor for that.

Today though my boy is just doing the bouldering rooms, there are 4 different rooms and while you can climb up high - the general idea is to work you way around the room in a circuit.

It is quite popular, attracting a broad range of ages and of course some hardcore climbers who end up literally hanging from the roof.

Your supposed to use both walls on this section.

Just hanging around. I didn't get so many photos today, I had my hands full with coat, drinks and snacks. Next visit I will try to get some more.

The driving for todays trip out is below, After climbing we stopped off at my Dad's to make him Sunday Lunch.

Yes, everybody says that. It's particularly at parents evening at his school - the teachers always say they don't need to ask which child is mine!

connexion khadama huh khles

He has a Nerf Gun - I can tell you now there would be holes in everything - including me if he went anywhere near a real gun! We do like going swimming though, although that's not going to be a practical blog post!

I see you and your little had a handful of joy! Specially him, I love kids having fun! Congratulations my dear friend @c0ff33a!

Thank you, we do have some laughs together!

It seems a fun and wonderful day not lazy lol

Well it was lazy for me - I just let him tire himself out with all the climbing and running around!

Your boy loves Les like he was having a blast what a cool place

It's quite a substantial indoor climbing centre, some of the roped climbs are scary high up.

Back just a few years I would have loved to give it a go

you have a lovely son my friend

Thank you, he has his moments.

Looks like you and the little crusher had some fun out there! You should get into it as well -- it's an awesome workout, and opens up all sorts of outdoor possibilities!

I use the excuse I have to spot him lol. I might be a little to old and creaky to climbing up things. Thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment :-)

I laugh at your child's climbing style, it looks very funny

This was a funny shot - he actually said for me to take a photo of him hanging off that hold point....but I had a little fun with him and kept him hanging there ages - making excuses the camera would not focus or wasn't taking the photo. Tough little monkey though - he kept hanging on, plenty of strength for a little un.

Looks like you had a fun day indoors. that weather tho.. it looks horrible... did it clear up??? I hope so. I don't like rainy weather unless a hurricane comes thru then it gets fun! lol

Being indoors was a bonus - it wasn't warm in there though - being a big old mill it's a bit draughty. Of course if your busy climbing you generate your own heat - I had to grab a coffee to warm myself up! It's warmed up now and we are due a mild week this week now thanks.

When my son was a teenager, he and I became climbing gym rats. That was great fun!

It's great fun - my boy loves it and it's good exercise for him. Thanks for taking a look an leaving a comment :-)

I like the idea of climbing across the gym as opposed to straight up, especially for young kids and inexperienced people. Makes sense and yet so many of them don't do it that way.

Love going for a ride with you. Feeding dad ? You are an awesome son!

The other bonus of climbing around the walls rather then up - not so far to fall! It's more challenging then it sounds. Thanks for dropping by :-)

great place to spend some time with a kids :-) i hope you tried this also by yourself :-)
i loved to watch your video - it's the first think i did when returned home after the long work day.
i drive a lot by myself. the morning trip to work take around 30-50 min, a little bit less at back home at evening plus - i have to move between two customers after afternoon something like another 25 km. i have a quality time when i drive - a music or radio if there is something interesting. sometimes just silent. but always same mood like in your video.. loved !

Thank you for dropping by, we visit here quite often it's a good way to pass an afternoon especially when the weather is not too good. I'm always throwing up those speeded dash cam footage, I quite like the effect you get when they are speeded up, and I imagine my driving experience in the UK is very different to other parts of the world. Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment - I really appreciate it :-)

yes - driving here is almost like driving in Mumbai :-))) people absolutely without patience
with my pleasure - actually youtube recommended me your video - everyday i watch different new vlogs about photography or check a new albums of psychedelic and stoner rock music :-)

beautyfull photography (=in=) you have a lovely son my friend===

We have three grand-daughters under 4 who we watch a couple times a month. We have seriously talked about trying to put a climbing wall in the living room for them, they try to climb it anyway lol!

Oh I get it you can put a foot on each way if need be. Very cool!
