Onam is the national festival of Kerala. It falls during the months of Aug-Sep. The festival commemorates the Vamana, and the return of the King Mahabali.
Onam is an important event for keralites in & outside Kerala. Keralites celebrates Onam as a harvest festival. Onam Celebrations includes Boat Race, Pulikkali (Tiger Dance), Onapookkalam (Flower arrangements), Thiruvathirakkali (Dance form), Onasadhya etc.
Onam is the only festival in India that all religions including Christians & Muslims celebrate with unity. This festival shows the unity & diversity of Kerala.
